Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

And there are a few CMs who disappear from the cabin 5 minutes before the announcement, in anticipation of it, so they don't have to do any drink refills and last minute service requests. Personally, I hope the new CEO starts removing them from the company, so the rot at the bottom doesn't start...

    Pre departure drinks

Cheers from Virgin Australia, a pre-departure sparkling wine on all afternoon/evening business class flights Australia-wide. ...and, a very selective cheers, (pre-departure sparkling wine) from Qantas (international) operating a domestic sector (flight numbered less than 400 within Australia).

Article: Not All Economy Class Products Are the Same

Usually pita and the hummus on a separate plate on the side. Ooops, I should have mentioned that it was a 90 minutes scheduled service. (Ticketed arrival time minus ticketed departure time. i.e. how a passenger views schedules, not the crew.) So not a PER/international flight, where an...

Survey re Premium/Standard Qantas Club Proposal

source: We have seen this happening at Delta Sky Clubs in the USA - where there are now regularly queues at the door of some lounges to get in, and long wait times (some abandoning the line, as their flights are called for departure, without ever entering). Pictured above is a JFK T4 Sky Club...

Article: Why Airlines Love European Business Class

I have flown on a Swiss A220, on the two seat side, and they did block the seat next to me. (They alternated between blocking window and aisle, presumably so no one would recline into you?)

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I think the CM was thinking of this one? (The two lumps at the top are chicken.) Overcooked and messy plate potentially due to extended turbulence and delayed beginning of service during/after ascent.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

I don't think I have ever been on a 5 cabin crew VA 737 flight. 90% of the time, the CM does an introduction prior to the safety briefing, and IME it's always 6 names; 2 driving at the front of the bus, and 4 in the back with the SLF. YMMV

Qantas doesn't care about priority boarding

IMO this is a major point of dissatisfaction flying J on a QF 737. Too often the overhead bins directly above row 1 are full of service equipment, reducing capacity for customer stowage, meaning bags going up behind you, and that downstream swim on disembarkation while everyone else moves...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Because officially I think it is only a Beyond/VIP benefit to have your order taken first. Some CMs are generous in extending it to their Platinum guests as well, but some don't, as it is not required service standard. As a fellow platinum, I suggest being thankful when it happens, and not...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I suspect that is the pesto in the little plastic tub pictured above the plate? Some CMs like to put the garnish on the dish for you, others like to leave it by the side for you to DIY. Looking back at how the lamb rissole has been served a few pages ago, it was a similar situation with that...

Qantas Flight Attendant Wore Palestinian Flag Pin on Their Uniform

Speaking of flags, Qantas is an Australian flagged carrier. Australia does not currently recognise Palestine as a nation state (although Australia supports finding a two state solution, as a pathway to potentially recognising one in the future). That said, I do have an issue with people who...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Perhaps more than any direct dollars, he needs flying billboards zooming around the sky? "Virgin Australia" being the local halo brand, which enables him to on sell/license the "Virgin" brand to franchises in other industries, where using that name can help cut through congested markets for new...
