ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

So you'd give a quadriplegic $388 per week (100%) but a paraplegic what? Only $200? They're probably equally unemployable on the open labour market, not that that's the only relevant issue. Disability and employability are different concepts. Employers who give disabled people work are great...

[Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10April

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10Apri Sorry if this has been answered (can't find it if it has), but I have booked a marginal ASA from Syd-Adl on 10 July. Will this earn status credits for "Business" or "Flexible Business"? Under the new table...

    Emirates Business/First vs Thai First

Yes, it says something similar on seatguru - thanks for the heads up. Thanks for the pics dk4 - they all look pretty comfy. The lounge looks great but i'm not going to get the most out of it when i'm half asleep at 5am... Did you find their A380 F product much better than the 747? I like...

    Emirates Business/First vs Thai First

I can only get one F seat on (QFF) points FCO-DXB but there are two of us. I was thinking if we had one in J and one in F, they might upgrade the J at the airport but that's probably just wishful thinking. And yes, if it was F all the way, no-brainer i think. Yep, status, etc. is not...

    Emirates Business/First vs Thai First

Actually, the other thing is that the TG flight layover will be from midnight to 2am Rome time which might be a bit harder to deal with... followed by a 9-hour flight which you rightly point out doesn't allow for a good sleep unless i'm out the whole time. The timing seems to be better on EK...

    Emirates Business/First vs Thai First

Yes i forgot about the chauffeur - that's a pro. No, the EK flight involves a 3-hour layover in DXB - from 11pm to 2am (midnight Rome time). The TG flight has a 2.5 hour layover. Like i said above travel time is only half an our better on Thai. I agree with you that the sleeping leg is the...

    Emirates Business/First vs Thai First

Good point. One leaves at 2pm and the other at 3:30pm, so it's much of a muchness. The total journey time is 35 mins less on TG so that makes little difference as well...

    Emirates Business/First vs Thai First

Hi AFFer's, I am flying FCO-SYD next week and my options (using points) are to fly TG the whole way in F on a 747 (new F), or to fly EK - in J from FCO-DXB and in F from DXB-SYD - both A380's. Which would you choose? I'm leaning towards EK as the FCO-DXB is only 6 hours on an afternoon flight...

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

... except for Citibank or the Woolies Everyday Rewards (who cancelled my card for using it for ATO payments). The options are becoming limited. Amex must have lost alot of customers - i guess all those points were costing them a pretty penny!

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I think you jinxed us. I received a letter from Amex today - Ultimate card will earn 0.5 points per dollar for ATO payments from 22 July. ... which means i'm cancelling it come 23 July!

Any Seat Award Originating in a City Not Listed on the QFF Website

Yeah, that's weird. That seems to be a bug in the site though cos it won't even find the flights, let alone the seats! When I suggested to the Qantas lady that the assistance fee was unfair in the circumstances, she said the system does not let them remove it.... But I'm not sure that's true...

Any Seat Award Originating in a City Not Listed on the QFF Website

Thanks guys. I will try again tomorrow. While I'm on the subject, I note that when Qantas release award seats a year out, they release J award seats on QF27 from SYD-SCL but no J seats on QF28 SCL-SYD. Has anyone noticed whether J award seats get released closer to departure date on QF28...

Any Seat Award Originating in a City Not Listed on the QFF Website

Hope someone has a solution to this one... I want to book a one way JASA from SCL to SYD next year - preferably on QF28. I can't do this online because SCL is not one of the cities you can select as a departure point when booking classic or ASA's. I can see that the seat is there because if I...

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Well I've had the Citibank Platinum M/card for a while now so I'm hoping i can simply switch over to Select. Citi Select also allows transfers to Velocity I see but there is no mention of the conversion rate on their website - they seem to want to keep these a secret.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Cove, if you get 1.33 KF points per dollar with Citiselect, then why have you kept the Krisflyer Amex/Visa? I am going to get the citiselect thanks to your recommendation, but i think i will have no further use for the KF amex/visa if i do...

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Yeah, I am using Krisflyer Plat Amex and Amex Ultimate for my tax bills but I also have Amex Platinum and Citibank Plat Mastercard with Qantas rewards. The Citibank is capped but i can't remember what the limit is. Now that they've reduced the MC/visa fee, I think I should try to find a good...

    New Singapore Air website

Hate it. As far as redemption bookings go at least, it does not appear to do anything better than the old site, it has no new features, and it's more coughbersome to use. If they're going to bother revamping, they should at least add a few features - calendar view or at least the option of...
