My recent experience: I applied for a transit visa for Chile on 13 Aug for entry on 14 Oct and received the visa on 1 Oct, so around 2 weeks before my arrival. Hope this helps.

Resurrecting this old thread to share a solution that I was able to find. Which is to use the Malaysian Airlines website. If you find your booking using your QF PNR, it will also show the LA PNR at the top of the page. Hope this helps.

I've had something similar happen to me. I was able to find MEL-SYD-SCL return using multi-city, but get an error when trying to complete for the booking. I ended up sucessfully making the booking by calling QF. Although I'm WP so not sure if worked for me due to my status
