Called Sunday night to request 2x economy seats on a Tuesday AM MEL-PER flight showing N9. Premium line initially said it wasn't possible to even request. I pushed back and said I thought as long as there was some N inventory I could request. She wondered if it was maybe a change in policy...

I haven’t previously been to the SYD F lounge with kids who eat (only an infant pre-Covid). Do they have a special menu? Or can we just be creative with what’s there to make it a bit kid friendly?

Got 1x business seat on QF10 LHR-MEL in April 2024. Showing I9 Denied both business and PE for QF9 MEL-LHR across a few dates in May 2024. Showing I0 and T0. It was a weird call - he put me on hold quickly, said he could get one way or not the other, took my card number and hung up so quickly...

Agreed, of course. But thinking about how to survive the flight with a 4 year old and 11 month old in a high interest rate environment led me to consider the option ;)

Has anyone here ever had any luck getting a seat (or three) released on SYD-DPS or MEL-DPS?

To tag on here: does “transferred” mean the other user still hasn’t redeemed it? (And once they do it leaves the list?)

Lately whenever I’ve requested a seat the agent asks if there points are coming from my account or theirs (my mum’s usually). It’s never been an option for me before (and I’ve always said mine), but either this is a policy change or a series of agents who don’t know the policy.

If I call and ask for a retention bonus, and one is not forthcoming so I cancel the card, do I still have time to transfer out the points I already have? And, if they do give a bonus, do I have an obligation to keep the card for a certain time period before I actually cancel it?

I didn’t follow up my last call from 10 days ago when they said it had been sent to the finance team, and $458 appeared in my account today. Well worth the effort.

This morning I got 4xJ on QF26 in October. I had 2xPE and 2xJ on a JL flight the day after but I'd rather we're all together even if we have one less day in Tokyo. Ticketed within a few minutes.

We had this a few years ago on a points ticket booked by QF, flying JL. Wasn’t an issue at all. QF agent did it straight away on the phone. I would only trust the premium centres for this, though.

I had to send a stat dec with my new bank details. It’s now six weeks since I did that and it took 3-4 calls to get the answer I just did, so hope you are ready to be patient.

I finally got a new update - my request has been authorised and passed to the finance team for payment. $450-odd. Won’t complain when that arrives. Though of course that could still be a while.

This is my experience, too, on the same issue. I twice called the service centre today – both times I was hung up on midway through a conversation. Promises of escalation. Or "I can see the ticket is still open", but no answers. Pretty frustrating.

I’m in the process now – about a month after sending the stat dec, but haven’t heard back since I sent it on. I guess I should try call next week.

Got an economy seat for my Mum in March, flying MEL-SYD. Only classic reward seats were before 8am or after 2pm which didn't suit her. 10am, 10:30am, 11am all showed N9 and all approved. Even better, the agent mentioned the 30% off sale has just launched, which I didn't even know about! I'm...

No reward seats showing SYD-MEL 21/12, but QF482 was showing I6. A lovely guy in Hobart got me an U seat released. The ticket is for my sister-in-law who is flying down to attend a funeral, so not having to pay last minute pre-Xmas fares is a relief. Happy WP here.
