United Airlines new Virgin Australia/Velocity Partner

I've got a flight on 9 May on United. UA did let me put in the VA number and says "This traveler is earning miles with VA". But thinking I'd better change it back to UA – assuming we all think those points/SCs will post into a black hole...?

    Free One AA systemwide upgrade

Hey @Danger - been a long time member since 2009 (also recently an AFF supporter) - don't have the necessary post count but would love to be on the standby list for this. Will be flying transcontinental (SFO - JFK) sometime before flying to Australia on AA in November and can pick the flight...

    Qantas Status Credits Boost

I'm based in the US - where did you read that the 4-Segment rule is waived? I can't find that anywhere, only mentions that 4 segments is still required!

QF PER-SIN cancelled, rebooked on Jetstar? Is this acceptable?

Hi everyone, a family member was booked on QF 77/78 in late July. The route was recently axed by Qantas, so we were expecting something to change - change just came through today and she was put onto Jetstar Asia for PER-SIN-PER. Is this normal procedure? I don't think Jetstar Asia is...

No points for 3K flight (sin-kl)

:) if you're not caring about the status credits, you might be on the wrong website! hehe. Every SC counts! Especially towards requal and lifetime statuses...

No points for 3K flight (sin-kl)

Please do ask - when I purchased my SIN-KUL flight on 3K last month, it had the status credits listed under the plus bundle - surely they can't change the conditions after you've purchased the fare with it advertised? I wouldn't have bought the plus bundle if it didn't offer status credits...

US Rental Car waiver doesn't cover window, tyres etc. Additional coverage possible?

Re: US Rental Car waiver doesn't cover window, tyres etc. Additional coverage possibl Thanks for the link. Unfortunately looking closely at the terms and conditions it seems it's much the same: insurance exclusions and excess reduction waiver Insurance Exclusions Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)...

US Rental Car waiver doesn't cover window, tyres etc. Additional coverage possible?

I'm travelling to the US and thanks to a tip from here, I'm going to hire a car through novacarhire.com. Reading through the T&C for the car hire, this seems to be a fairly standard clause: "MAXI WAIVER DOES NOT COVER: Theft of personal effects or goods within the car. Damages done to within...

Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Match Promotion - Closed 30 Sep 11

I'm flying from Perth in a few days on Qantas - if I get there a bit early and pop over to the Virgin terminal would I be able to get a status match there and then at 'The Lounge'? Or is that only in MEL/SYD? I'm keen to give the coast-to-coast service a good go!

Free Virgin Australia Lounge access for Qantas Gold and Platinum members

It's been a while since anyone's posted in this thread, but I booked a Virgin Australia flight for this Thursday evening from Melbourne to Perth to try this out - just wanted to confirm the promotion hasn't been ended early?

Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

You're right - even the website now says priority boarding for selected international flights only, no mention of domestic. something a bit funny - does it show up with a question mark at the end of the statement for anyone else on the website? haha. maybe they're asking us something? like...

For the record, I was never contacted by anyone about this.

New cringeworthy QF John Travolta safety video

OK, saw it again today. Watching it again, it seems to have grown on me - yes, it probably does get more eyeballs on the screens which is important. Maybe it's the voiceover artist they used - she reminds me of Jetstar commercials? I think it's the part when they say 'we know you already know...

New cringeworthy QF John Travolta safety video

Flew QF this morning, told by the CSM it just came in today. It was very surprising and I think reflects poorly on Qantas. Doesn't give the passengers any credit - almost like something that should be on Jetstar (if they had safety videos). I'm planning to let Qantas know of my negative feedback...

Lounge access on Earth Platinum AMEX

Hi everyone Just wondering if Earth Platinum AMEX gives you lounge access - was travelling around Hong Kong airport and noticed some lounges let you present a credit card (usually Platinum or the higher tiers) to get access - but in the case of HKG, only locally issued cards were allowed...
