Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Hi all. I'm trying to see what the J meal options (and if I want to pre-order) on QF3 later this week. There doesn't seem to be an option to see the meals/choose when I log into my booking. Any ideas? Usually that's where you find the options.

Article: Should Airlines Rebook Sick Passengers for Free?

Did you read the PDS and/or ask any questions before purchasing the TI? I tested positive 2 days before I was meant to fly back to SYD from NY (J class). This was when AU and QF stopped requiring testing for flying/entry, but NY still had a 5 day quarantine requirement. Called TA, who told me...

Article: Should Airlines Rebook Sick Passengers for Free?

Interesting about the concept of TI. I read the PDS in detail and always call to clarify if there are any questions. For example, TI will cover Covid (including cancellations), but you need to be so unwell that a medical professional notes you are unfit to fly. I asked multiple insurers what...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic award seats?

Well, I am booking a flight to NZ but for January, and no DSC will be coming up before then! And honestly, taking trips solely for SC seems a waste. What I did just realise is that I can easily combine work with NY so the flight is tax deductible and therefore after tax not a bad deal at all...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic award seats?

Am I off my rocker? Was originally thinking I’d request the release of a single J seat to NY (as lots of I availability and I had some flexibility around dates). Paid fares were sitting around $20k, making the point value just about 7 cents - excellent value! Now Qantas has dropped a sale and...

Sydney airport check-in closes 2 hours before flight?

Booking says check in and bag drop closes 2 hours before the flight (NZ102, departing 9:55am closes at 7:55am). This seems weird as while they usually suggest getting to the airport early, check in usually closes 1 hour or perhaps 90 minutes before departure. Air NZ phone rep thought it should...

    Priority check-in for travel companions

Quick question... I am Platinum with another 2 people on my booking with no status. My partner is Gold, with 3 additional travellers on his booking. We are travelling on QF to Fiji. While my partner and I can use priority check-in, I presume that our travelling companions on the same booking...

    AA72/73 pyjamas

Flew AA72 2 weeks ago. Jimmie’s provided, but quality has declined. Wasn’t worth keeping them (whereas in past have done so). Will be on AA73 in 2 weeks so expect there will be on that, too given overnight flight.

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Thanks for the confirmation. I figured as such. Now if only the sale didn't drop the day after I took the last discount biz seats!

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Thanks Serfty. No QF booking reference yet (and guessing might not get one as it's booked on AA, but QFF applied). I know all my fare buckets (I and D), so it's all business class earns. It's just confirming that each leg will be credited separately, as they are all separate flight numbers...

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Well, I got it all sorted and full business for less than $14K, plus as there are some connections within the US (e.g. LGA-ORD-YVR and YVR-LAX) there *should* be a bunch of status credits (just enough to tip me to Platinum, and LG). Unfortunately, nobody at Qantas can confirm the SC "until...

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Okay all... then one more question as I might just break the trip up and do open jaw SYD-JFK/YVR-SYD and book JFK-YVR separately via Alaska Airlines in First. I presume that Alaska Airlines, as a full partner of QF, would then provide at least Biz SC for that leg, correct? 1681033063 She does...

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Yes… I know but I have been told the bucket is I (discount Biz) for all the sectors within USA. I will confirm with TA when I speak to her.

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Yes, I know but the TA gave me the fare codes and sadly sometimes it’s mixed cabins even if the code for the whole leg is I. Hoping to avoid this with Alaska Airlines

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Ends up that (according to Qantas) it doesn't matter what seat I'm in, it's the booking code that matters. So D/I will earn business SC even if I'm sitting in Economy. Just found a perfect Alaska Airlines flight that will get me from NY-YVR (better timings, via Seattle) and sitting in Biz...

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

I'm speaking to her tomorrow, but quote is $14K. The DCIR22 base fare is dependent on fare codes being available, and the lowest for business aren't... so the $10,779 would be higher and then add taxes (plus the extra travel time). Will be checking the specifics on DCIR22 on Tuesday. Biggest...

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

All, I'm booking via AA. The circle pacific will need 29K miles, I believe. Am checking. It's just a bit of a pain to only do US (in terms of pricing). The AA fare basis for ALL the sectors is INX5ARN3. The transpacific are all in I class (so AA discount business), so it seems that the...

Status credits on AA on internal US legs (plus biz class but econ seat)

Not a status run. Going to visit family. But yes, can look at DONE but originally was just doing NY, so extra flying wasn’t worth it. Now that want to do YVR, might be a better option. Won’t be stopping in Asia or Europe though (other than transit)
