Just FYI, a change of IP doesn't necessarily mean you need to restart a logged in browser session. You may find it makes very little difference as HTTP(s) is a session based protoco

It's called basic physics and basic economics. That would be their genuine capital works costs including project management. Running fibre is not cheap.

QANTAS to launch their own credit card in tie-up with Citibank

I think QF may be interested in this feedback. Does RedRoo still exist? Pretty poor that their partner is basically answering with their major domestic competitors name.

Off to Chile tonight with a Vik Milla Cala. We visited there last month and the take home didn't disappoint. http://www.vik.cl/en/milla-cala-2011.php

Parents moved from ADSL 12Mbps or so to NBN FTTN today. On the 25Mbps plan, training up at 28/6.6Mbps. Real world speeds of 24/4. Upgrade was painless, their modem was already VDSL2 compatible so no config changes required. Only downside is their PSTN was disconnected and now 3-7 business days...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options They don't count towards P1, nor subsequent status bonuses I believe, perhaps that's where the confusion lies...

Lower Bank interchange fees to 'enhance' credit card earn rates

I'd say that's due to your sister not taking appropriate steps and just letter her employer decide where her super goes. I have little sympathy. Firstly, the insurances are not compulsory, and can be removed, however super is one of the most cost and tax effective ways to insure for Life...

QANTAS to launch their own credit card in tie-up with Citibank

The word is that it is a premium card, so will be priced accordingly. They may offer a lounge access option for purchase in the card fee or some other QF specific benefits (perhaps no card fees on flight purchases). What will be interesting is how it stacks up for an SG or above who won't...

Lower Bank interchange fees to 'enhance' credit card earn rates

The rate depends on the industry and risk profile. Many merchants have 2.4 to 3% starting rates. Mine did so I didn't bother accepting cards. As it was B2B, EFT suited everyone just fine.

To correct you, a voice channel needs only 32-64kbps not mb/s. FTTN/C will handle 1Gbps theoretical and easily those two voice channels, which themselves can run over ADSL1 now. Obviously the quality and distance of the copper will vary the outcome. VDSL (copper) is already delivering 100Mbps...

QF IT systems screw up on Lifetime Silver & Gold status notifications?

Re: QF IT systems screwed up? Got it too... just ignore everything they sent today, the work experience kid went nuts with their eDM tool... (amateur hour)

QF IT systems screw up on Lifetime Silver & Gold status notifications?

It couldn't be any less exciting than the form letter. At least there were some animated gif fireworks, I guess... I got the email over a month after the letter.

Actually that's incorrect. The NBN was about delivering a minimum standard of internet to all Australians regardless of their location as the private sector had failed to do so.

    Alitalia files for bankruptcy

Do you mean MXP (Milano Malpensa)? AZ already run many codeshares with AF so they would be the obvious choice to take over the routes and operation.

Has anyone ever seen such a weird seat map on Qantas?

The same happens on QF27/28 SYD-SCL, seats are allocated to LATAM codeshare pax and you can't select them.
