Taking ownership of the middle seat on a QF 737-800

Just seeking opinions from the learned community here at AFF. As a relatively infrequent flyer, but QP member, I am usually able to get seated around row 4 or 5 on a 737-800. Having just returned from a quick trip to Melbourne, I experienced something on both legs that has me puzzled and which...

US Immigration delays due Budget cuts

I got through in about an hour 3 weeks ago (QF93). This compared favourably to the 2 hour wait to clear customs in Melbourne on my return (QF94). They were moving Australian citizens to the foreigners' queue to try to speed things up. Maybe there are budget cuts here too!

Premium economy on QF MEL-LAX-JFK (and back)

What a comedy of errors. I looked up flight information on expertflyer.com, and lo and behold, there were still plenty of seats available. Sent the information the the travel agent, and they rang and confirmed PE seats within the hour. Really, what's the point of going to a TA when you have to...

Premium economy on QF MEL-LAX-JFK (and back)

No, not flexible at all. ADL-MEL-LAX 30 MAR, LAX-JFK 4 APR, JFK-LAX-MEL 12 APR. All accommodation, tours etc, booked and paid for. I have travel insurance of course, but the point is that I booked and paid for PE. If they offer a refund for me to go Y, that's not good enough as far as I'm...

Premium economy on QF MEL-LAX-JFK (and back)

Yep, seems to be a travel agent stuff up. They originally confirmed that I had seats 37D, 37E, 37F on the LAX-JFK (and back) legs, which according to Qantas seat maps are in PE. I just rang Qantas to confirm, and I they said I was originally booked on PE on the LAX-JFK legs, but not any more...

Premium economy on QF MEL-LAX-JFK (and back)

Hi, I have Qantas Premium Economy (PE) seats booked for the end of March from MEL-LAX-JFK/JFK-LAX-MEL and the booking on the Qantas website shows as PE all the way, including the "internal" flights between LAX and JFK (QF107/108). The question is, are my seats on QF107/108 PE class, because...

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

I was wondering about this too - is it possible to use the BA lounge at JFK with the AA 30 day pass?

Booking held by travel agent & then price increases (what's your view?)

Just a follow up on this to give credit where it's due. I spoke with the branch manager of the agency about my concerns, and she went above and beyond to secure the original PE tickets at the price I was originally quoted, saving me over $3000. So, one happy customer, and I will be dealing with...

Booking held by travel agent & then price increases (what's your view?)

Yes, I'm afraid so. The annoying thing is that I could've booked and paid during the last week, but was waiting for his response.

Booking held by travel agent & then price increases (what's your view?)

Just wanted to get some members' opinions on my recent experience with a well known travel agent. I had planned flights to the US on QF premium economy for next year, and before booking, thought I'd visit this well known travel agent to see whether they could beat the price advertised on the QF...

AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

Has anyone used the AC 30 day pass in a Qantas lounge in Australia (specifically Adelaide/Melbourne/Sydney) with 2 guests? For USD$99 for a month and the ability to bring the wife and kid into the lounge, it seems like incredible value! Thanks in advance for your replies.
