Inappropriately Woken on Overnight MH flight

I too, questioned this and apparently you can have dinner OR breakfast, but not both. really odd on such a long flight.

US Domestic First Class: Is this as good as it gets?

Recently flew First on AA from Des Moines to DFW and it was a shocker (and I told them so). However, 2 years back did an AA First from JFK to SFO and it was equivalent to Qantas Business in their newest seats to Asia. Individual 'booths' with flat bed and lovely meal. On a separate note, our...

    The Operational Upgrade Thread

Good luck with upgrades to the VERY pointy bit of the plane; we had ben promised upgrades many times, after seriously bad incidents and paying a fortune on Qantas flights but we always missed out because the CREW only likes to fly FIRST when re-positioning between cities. It is an absolute...

Head to Head: Singapore Airlines Suites vs Emirates Airways First

Have flown Etihad and SQ in their suites and I thought they were close except SQ service is the best in the sky.

The demise of the flying kangaroo?

Recently did a SYD-LON flight on a JAL ticket; 2 legs on QF, one on BA and one on JAL. Didn't know what to expect from the latter as it has been some time since last with them. It was by far the best leg. Qf the worst - lazy rushed crew , particularly on last leg home - showing annoyance when...

The demise of the flying kangaroo?

I think Qantas is slowly being sunk to change the culture of that ''club''. I see the crew as its worst ''asset'' - they are self-serving, lazy and get upgrades to First, ahead of high-paying passenger; I know - I have been promised one for 5 years and despite on occasion, seeing 9 available...

    Heads up about program changes

What is MASA?? I book Qantas all the time online and am confused. What are they removing? I can't understand when an airline is suffering from higher fares, why it would make them even more ''costly'' in a roundabout way.

    Heads up about program changes

Has anyone tried to book a Biz class flight to the USA on Qantas recently? - I have not seen one available (except for Christmas Eve) for around months and 12 months into the future. What is going on? Is it people booking madly in case Qantas falls over?

    Best Business Class?

Nothing beats Singapore A380 Business class I think, but LAN (Chile) is a favourite. Fully flat beds (unlike Qantas anywhere) and staggered rows of seats, giving a spacious feel.

Why fly business? I don't see the value?

ít's the difference between pain and pleasure. Worth every cent.

Platinum "anytime" lounge Access ceases from 1 February 2011

To kpc Not exactly on topic, but amazingly, I just saw your avatar on another site a few minutes ago - a cruise site - and was really taken by it - the Copacabana hotel in Rio - right? Surprised I didn't recognise it as I stayed there last June. On the right note - I wondered if the First...

Interesting to see you mention Hilton. My preferred choice of hotel loyalty- programs.

    Best Frequent Flyer Credit Card

Frequent Flyers average at 5c/point making it around $400 for that transaction. If you collect a lot of points it is well worth it - particularly since most points cost you no more than what you spend. NOT collecting points is ignoring free money, I think.

    Best Frequent Flyer Credit Card

Not sure what your beef was with the card. I use it regularly overseas incuding just this month - it is as I said 3.5% + 3%. Confirmed it twith Westpac as well.

    Best Frequent Flyer Credit Card

Actually 3% Visa overseas - 3.5% Amex o/seas. Stick to Visa o/seas - no downside.

    Best Frequent Flyer Credit Card

The Westpac Krisflyer Singapore Airlines card gives you 1.5 points/$1 with Amex worldwide, 1.5 points/$1 with Visa when overseas and 1 point/$1 with Visa in Oz. I believe the Visa is uncapped. I ditched all other cards when this became available last May. You automatically get both cards...

    Frequent Flyer Number Ethics

If you're worried about it - you can always do it retro-actively. If you get the job - won't matter, and if you don't - who cares?
