MEL Dom. lounges refurb Completed October 2018

My first experience of the refurbed Q Club Lounge this weekend. My opinion? Appalling. It feels like a large cafeteria not a lounge. Seat covers are stained already. Definitely feels like a downgrade to me

Priority Checked Baggage - What a joke !

I have also abandoned my Q-tags. Too many times the bag-drop machines were unable to read them and finally, the last straw, luggage was not loaded at Perth airport on a flight to Broome. It arrived at midday the next day- thank heavens for the Qantas emergency kits of toothpaste and brushes etc.

    Increasing food tolerance when travelling?

I swear by Travelan tablets. Working regularly in China I found I often got diarrhea that needed Antibiotics to clear up, and that's in spite of scrupulous attempts to protect myself. Since using Travelan I have not been sick once while travelling. I also used them to travel through Cambodia and...

    Scaredy Cat

Firstly, a big pat on the back to you for being such an amazingly supportive partner. You deserve a medal. However, I wonder if your unending support is actually NOT helping the situation?? The reason I say this is I because suffer from both claustrophobia and agoraphobia and have had to...

    Scaredy Cat

I wholeheartedly agree with this comment. I definitely recommend some intensive therapy with a clinical psychologist. Been there, done that! Your husband will be able to get over it with trained help. Think of it as an investment for your future together, how will your relationship be if...

    Qantas feeds its staff first?

Thank you to the people who have posted helpful and knowledgeable comments to my OP. Some comments were neither helpful or knowledgeable of course but I suppose you get that on any type of forum.

    Qantas feeds its staff first?

if under the radar reads my OP he/she will see that I am quoting a newspaper comment. I am not the passenger. I think your post is a little bit impolite. I was simply inviting comment on the reported situation.

    Qantas feeds its staff first?

The following is from today's online edition of CRIKEY newspaper. "Qantas feeds its staff first. I went from Sydney to Brisbane last week in business class on a 17.30 Qantas flight as the 18.00 was cancelled. In that class were six Qantas cabin crew paxing in full uniform. Next to me were two...

Odd things you find on a hotel website/webpage

While the following is not from a hotel website/webpage it is loosely hotel information related.... I travel regularly to China and the city I stay in is a centre for ceramics (sanitaryware) and wedding gown/evening gown manufacture - the latter (not the former) is my area of expertise. In...

    Bouquet to DJ's" Captain Craig"

ha ha - no only the lowest class Velocity member (normally travel QF)! Don't know what SRB means?? If the Captain thought we were celebs he was definitely mistaken (although I was often told I resembled Liz Hurley a few years ago -but that compliment hasn't come my way for a while now...

    Bouquet to DJ's" Captain Craig"

Well docjames the flight was actually only about 1/3 full so they re-allocated a lot of people to 'balance' the plane ....?? - but we must have been the only ones who complained. We also received a bottle of wine each, and the packet of biscuits we requested, for free - I had my credit card at...

    Bouquet to DJ's" Captain Craig"

Flight DJ 4161 Perth to Denpasar on 2 April. Requested forward or rear seats (but definitely not in the middle of the plane), was allocated row 8 - which was fine. At the boarding gate were re-allocated seats in row 20, not happy! Upon boarding my husband requested that we be allowed to...

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

Rebekkap, I suppose I don't think that I am bigotted against 'fat' people because I have plenty of fat friends whom I love dearly (but, on a point of interest, not one of these people is fat due to a medical condition, they all over-indulge in wine and food and don't do any exercise and they...

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

Rebekkap - my comment regarding allowing fat people into the lounge was actually made 'tongue in cheek' ( but my comment re fat people on the aircraft was indeed a complaint). I think people can wear what the hell they like in the Q lounge, it has no impact on me. The only time I would have a...
