I'm in a similar situation, have MEL-SFO and LAX-MEL legs in Premium Plus (A). Just trying to gauge how much a cash only upgrade would be since I don't have any UA miles. The website and app only shows cash + miles pricing.

Has anyone upgraded using money only? I can see lots of flights close to departure have upgrades available using money + miles, but can't tell from the website if this also allows paid upgrades without points.

Does anyone know if UA do upgrade bids from economy tickets? Given there is no way (currently) to upgrade a paid ticket using points.

Does anyone know if upgrades using points will be possible?

Flew on VH-VOZ and VH-VPE in the last 2 weeks. VOZ they made an announcement it wasn't available and VPE redirect portal just said WiFi connection not available.

I highly doubt it will go through. Been checking the flights over the last couple days and none seem to have any reward seats open up, even if the cabin is half empty..

I'm waitlisted for VA23 J upgrade from Freedom fare and I'm SG. Still no reward fares available <72 hours out but 14 seats available. Should I be expecting the worst? :(
