    AA's SYD-LAX flight

hehe I didn't mean it literally. What they meant was that it felt like a 'really long flight' that wasn't very enjoyable.

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

Yeah they flew economy. I suppose the experience would be different in J or F. I've flown Business, premium and economy on Qantas long haul and they have always been very consistent throughout. I would expect AA to match the same comfort and service that Qantas provides with the partnership...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

My friend and his wife just came back from Miami and they flew the new AA 72/23 SYD-LAX there and back. He said the experience through the whole trip was horrible and he swears never to take them again. He said they were unorganized, all his flights were late which made them almost miss their...

    Frequent Flyer the Documentary

This board always makes me think of the George Clooney movie "Up in the Air" and they have this scene in the movie which pretty much tops it :) Natalie Keener: Hungry much? Ryan Bingham: Our business expense allots forty dollars each for dinner. I plan on grabbing as many miles as I can...

Credit card billing address when booking internal US flights with Southwest

I purchased a Southwest Gift Card for my friend who lives in the US using my Citibank Visa card and it went through fine. For the billing address, I somehow managed to put my aussie address in there and since I live in Sydney, I chose 'NS' as the state but still put NSW in the extra address...

Request for assistance planning USA holiday

You can do a stop in Chicago between LA and NY. It is a really nice place to visit, lots to see, beautiful city, amazing architectures and great blues bars which you can really enjoy as a couple. I was there for 4 days in March and had an amazing time, you don't hear much about it but it was a...

Request for assistance planning USA holiday

I have been on holidays to all the places you mentioned except Washington DC. Now my idea of a holiday is not having to rush around on a tight schedule (as in on tours) and have enough time in each place to appreciate it. I can say that to fully enjoy Las Vegas, you need at least 4-5 days there...

    Nervous Need Reassurance

With Qantas, you can select your seat in advance online and purchase those seats for some extra $$ usually around $150 I think, (provided they are available) but most flights usually have a few of those free.

    Nervous Need Reassurance

I have flown on Qantas, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines and Air Canada several times on long-haul flights (10hrs plus) mostly to UK/US/Canada and I can say Qantas has been the best by far. Also their A380 is much much quieter and much more comfortable than the 747 and I...

    VISA Waiver Program to USA

Re: Us vwp I went to the US twice this year already, once in January for 5 days and 2nd time in June for 7days. As previously mentioned, you don't have to apply for the waiver through ESTA again, just update your new travel details there. I had no problem at all.

Air Canada Aeroplan - rewards flight online booking problems

The only problem I've had with Air Canada is when I had to cancel some flights and they gave me credits instead of a refund. And I had to call their reservation centre in Canada to rebook the flights I wanted.

Trip to LA. Which airlines is good ?

I flew with Qantas Economy from Sydney to LA in Jan, which was a 12-13hrs flight I think and it was nice, no complaints. Got good service, good entertainment selection, food was ok and the seats are quite comfy. Rest of my internal flights in the US were with AA, codeshare with Qantas. My...

Suggestions for a hotel in Mauritius in Feb

That sounds like a nice trip! :) Reunion Island is close, only about 1hr plane ride from Mauritius, I've been there a few times. They have similar weather as Mauritius and you will love it there if you like to go hiking. Their beaches are not as nice for swimming but great surfing. One of their...

Suggestions for a hotel in Mauritius in Feb

Hi Maureen, you will absolutely love Mauritius. I lived there for 18yrs and I really miss the nice beaches, weather and local culture. All hotels on the coasts are nice but there 2 that are my favourites because they are away from the main tourist hub which is mostly the north of the island...

    Air Canada MEL-SYD-YVR questions

As far as I know Qantas and Air Canada are not affiliated with each other. But since you booked your tickets through AC and they put you on a Qantas flight, there is a high chance they may have some sort of arrangement. If this is the case, they should be able to give you boarding passes for...

Flying from San Francisco to LAX - what's the wait when we arrive in LAX

I flew from Las Vegas to LAX via US Airways, it was an early morning flight and got into LAX at around 8.45am. It took us less than 15mins to get out from the time we got off the plane and collected our luggage. It was surprisingly really quick and we got a taxi straight away to our hotel.
