    Spot the typo?

Hi My wife and I just flew business class from Cairns to Melbourne on the new retro-roo 737. The plane looked wonderful and the service on board very good. But we both thought there might be a typo with their on board signage. cjg

Maintain Velocity Platinum - how long for you?

My requalification date is end-November, but I got across the line in September. I've got a few more flights to do before the counter gets reset to zero, but no chance of reaching the 'partner Gold' level again. My flying for next year looks like it will be significantly reduced. I'm glad...

    Lamest QF promotion ever

I agree that the promotion doesn't do anything for solo travellers, but I guess Qantas is trying to maximise passenger numbers and a 2-4-1 business class deal helps them achieve this. My wife and I just took advantage of the promotion and booked a couple of east-west coast flights to visit family.

Virgin Blue A330 J class, ATR and new uniform details

The product looks great. I would be happy to try it out. But like others have said I'm now interested in what the pricing will be.

[Media Beat-up] Jetstar denies heart transplant patient, 5, the use of wheelchair

I agree with some of the previous posts that this really is a non-news story and wasn't worthy of reporting. But seeing as though it was I consider it then reasonable for people to present their views. Perhaps it is fence sitting, but I think both the family and Jetstar could have done more in...

    QFF Panel email

Yes, I agree. Not just future planes but also the ones they've already put this terrible configuration in.

    QFF Panel email

I got the email and did the survey. A big NO to the middle seat in domestic J from me and I provided detailed accompanying comments why. I'm hoping that they take our feedback seriously and fix the seating so it's 2x2x2 for future A330-200 aircraft.

    Where's everybody spending Christmas Day?

I'll be skiing at Zao Onsen in Japan with Mrs cjg. This will be our third white Christmas in a row, but have promised our families that next Christmas will be spent back in Australia. I flew from Melbourne to Hong Kong in 1995 on Christmas Day in J. I don't remember if the menu was Christmas...

Some sound advice for Qantas - give musicians a break

+1 I agree. I've got friends who travel for business and need large pieces of equipment that I would say are about the size of a guitar. They recognise that this luggage is outside the carry on luggage allowances and check them in. At times they have to pay additional luggage charges as...

New CBR terminal from Sunday morning

Thanks for providing the link to your photos. Both lounges look excellent. The new style of seating in the Business Lounge appears very comfortable - I'm looking forward to trying them out when I get the chance next year. I'm only going by the photos - and I'd like to see what more users...

New CBR terminal from Sunday morning

+1 - me too. But perhaps they wanted to make sure it all works in Perth and Sydney before they started to roll it out across the rest of the network.

New CBR terminal from Sunday morning

I'm not going to get a chance to see the new terminal, QP or J lounge for some time. But later in 2011 I will be using them a fair bit. I am very interested to see what the new facilities look like. If some pictures could be posted once they're open that would be fantastic.

Platinum "anytime" lounge Access ceases from 1 February 2011

I am still very disappointed that 'anytime' access to the Qantas Club will be removed as a Platinum benefit. However, I am pleased that Qantas has responded in some way to feedback and customer reaction and made a compromise that will allow Platinum FF's to use the lounges on arrival.

Platinum "anytime" lounge Access ceases from 1 February 2011

I'm also one who is very disappointed at the removal of the 'access anytime' benefit. I've only used it a handful of times domestically when either dropping a friend off at the airport or waiting to collect someone, and a couple of times as an arrivals lounge. But knowing that it was available...

    A good Qantas experience

I thought I might share my recent good Qantas experience. Last Sunday I was flying from Canberra to Sydney and waiting to check-in my bags. While I was waiting and looking up at the departures screen my flight changed to the dreaded 'cancelled’ message. Less than two minutes later, and while...

Best J seats on CX A330 SYD -HK -SYD

I've flown this route a couple of times with Cathay on A330s with the lie-flat beds and I've always preferred the 'K' seats over the 'A' or 'D' seats. My impression is that there is less traffic in the aisle on the right hand side of the aircraft as only one line of seats are accessing it...

    QF transcon flights

Hi It looks like I will be needing to do some flights from either Melbourne or Sydney to Perth over the next few months with Qantas. Apologies if this question has been asked previously, but I was wondering if anyone knew which flights were operating the new domestic A332 configuration...

    Ten best lounges

I can't remember any views of the Bay either. The city skyline in the distance, yes, but I don't recall any water views.

    Lounge Access NRT

Yes you can access the QP if you're flying Starclass. For Dragonman - yes the Sakura First Lounge has showers. They're quite nice, but not quite up there with the QF Syd/Mel Flounge showers.

Does this QF 747 have a First cabin?

Thanks for your help everyone. My booking details on-line weren't showing a seat number, even though my printed itinerary that was sent to me had me listed in seat 12A. I called Qantas to see if I could get one of the remaining seats in Zone A and I was told I was already allocated 1K. :)...
