Points / status crediting from oneworld and Qantas - issues?

After contacting Qantas many times they eventually gave the credits and points for the flights. The service via the email address was much better than claiming via the Qantas website. I'm expecting I will need to fight again for the return flights I did earlier this week. Thanks again for the...

Points / status crediting from oneworld and Qantas - issues?

Thank you for confirming the part about the codeshare. I deliberately avoided Nordic Regional Airlines in the booking. The flights were booked through Finnair. Qantas (QF35) to Singapore, and then Finnair (AY132 and AY1433) to Helsinki and Singapore (all in Finnair planes). What was...

Points / status crediting from oneworld and Qantas - issues?

Thanks so much for this advice. I have all the boarding passes and the booking showing the fare classes. So I'll prepare it and send it now.

Points / status crediting from oneworld and Qantas - issues?

I am currently having the same issue. I bought a Finnair fare to Europe (MEL-SIN-HEL-BER). All in business class. The Finnair legs with fare class "R". I tried to claim the points and SCs after 4 weeks. My claim was declined. I was certain that R was "Business" in terms of earning. I...

    First Status Run

Serfty is absolutely correct. I mis-counted the status credits when I was reading my Qantas activity statement. Correct count is 360 credits. My mate told me that we could have achieved an even lower status credit/dollar rate but it would have required an overnight stay along the way. When I...

    First Status Run

2 weeks ago I was in the US with a mate on a 2 week vacation. The plan was to visit Chicago and New York and attempt a status run during that time. I needed almost 400 credits to retain Gold status. I have read a lot on this forum about status runs on AA in the US and regularly looked up...

    Aerolineas Argentina $999 SYD-EZE

Not many positive comments about the airline. I just noticed something else interesting... looking at dates in August, the flight numbers to Sydney have changed to AR1180/1181, and it turns in to a non-stop SYD-EZE flight. I guess they are taking advantage of Qantas leaving that route.

    Aerolineas Argentina $999 SYD-EZE

I just spotted this special fare from Aerolineas this morning. I've been watching for fares from Australia to South Americas for several years and I think this is the cheapest I have ever seen. It's usually a last resort that I would fly on a non-Oneworld carrier, but this seems too cheap to...

Air Berlin joins One World Today

So I just heard all the One World airline chiefs are in Berlin today. Air Berlin joins the One World alliance today. They have already added the One World logo to their website. But I wonder when their flights/award flights will be added on to the Qantas site. It would be nice to get in...

    Air berlin to join Oneworld

I don't get excited over the seat back TVs anymore. I just flew to London and back on BA and found nothing good to watch. So nowadays I prefer to load the laptop with things I want to watch. So no TV in the back of the seat wouldn't both me. I'd wap it for a couple of more inches of space...

    Air berlin to join Oneworld

Any idea on when Air Berlin will become an option when booking flights on the Qantas website? Maybe Qantas will start hooking up with Air Berlin at Singapore or Frankfurt.

    Air berlin to join Oneworld

This is excellent news! Just in time to plan a RTW award redemption. It's very exciting that there is now another option to avoid going through LHR. JFK direct to TXL :)

Luggage on a One World RTW Trip

Yes, the trip will be a points redemption through Qantas. I always thought that on the ticket the same luggage allowance continued though all sectors. It's a bit of a hassle if it goes up and down. Perhaps I will try AA for the Atlantic crossing to see if that makes any difference...

Luggage on a One World RTW Trip

I am working out an economy round the world trip on the Qantas website as an award booking. I thought that any RTW trips that went via North or South America had luggage limit of 2 checked bags on all sectors of the RTW trip. I noticed today that it is 2 bags when heading to North/South...

Flying First Class to London on BA

I ended up getting the new fit out on the way to LHR. We were allocated seats 1A and 1K. The flight attendant tells me that these seats are reserved for royalty when they fly. The trip was really nice! My travelling buddy talked me in to getting in to the PJs before we took off. What I...

Flying First Class to London on BA

HA! After tracking the BA 747s with the new fit out for the past few months, the website BKK flights by British Airways - FT Dashboard has just been updated a short while ago. It shows every 747 registration used for BA9 and BA10 for the past few months. But for the one instance which...

Flying First Class to London on BA

Regarding the new BA first class fit out. I have been keeping an eye on this site to see when one comes to Sydney so I know if it will be a new or old fit out. Looking at the recent stats, there is about a 30% chance of getting a new fit out. It does look nice! Oh... and we got seats...

Flying First Class to London on BA

We are heading off on our first First Class trip to London tomorrow on BA10. This flight goes via Bangkok. Does anyone know if there is actually a First Class lounge at BKK airport or is it just the regular Qantas Club lounge? The Qantas website is a little vague about it.

    Air berlin to join Oneworld

I remember getting a snack (a sandwich from memory) and a drink (I opted for a hot tea) on a short AB flight. I have flown them a few times to and from Tegel. Best LCC I've ever been on. I'm looking forward to them joining OW for a quicker option in to Berlin.
