I'm wanting to use points for a ski trip next year in Jan/Feb. I'm wanting to fly Business class (or first if I find the unicorn) and am pretty open with dates, but I'm finding very little availability and nothing that seems enticing. The AA site seems to only give me routings on Fiji Airways...

I think you used to be able to get first class on Qantas to HKG from SYD and then Cathay Pacific from there. I can't find any first class flights with Qantas anywhere at the moment though. Any suggestions?

The old style first suites are readily available as a Saver redemption, but the newer version is always 'waitlist' at best. Am I being blocked because I have no status? Do they just book out the instant they are released? Or am I just missing something? Cheers, Pete

I'm heading over Japan late January next year for some Skiing. I've sorted out getting there using AA points and am now looking to get home using my Qantas points. At the moment the best option seems to be to fly Business class CTS-HKG-BNE with an overnight in HKG. This comes to 184,000 points...
