Thanks. I can relate to the "tours" over NY, NJ and the Atlantic.

Thanks. re #1, I had a window on right rear of the wing and I know the engine on my side was running. On reflection, I can't be sure if the left engine was also running, so your thoughts on APU could explain it. re #2. If you are interested the track ... Live Flight Tracker - Real-Time...

3 Weeks in Spain (via Japan)

Sadly, I think you are right when it comes to the "main attractions" in the major tourist destinations that every tour group includes on the itinerary.

3 Weeks in Spain (via Japan)

Must admit we didn't do much advance planning and just went with the flow. Didn't look for the cathedral roof tour but we did see the upper floors of the Alcazar palace, and were ready to go before the 7pm closing time. That was the Saturday of the Copa del Rey final (Valencia v Barcelona)...

3 Weeks in Spain (via Japan)

Enjoying your report. We were in Sevilla a couple of weeks back and enjoyed it a lot. Seeing the normal queue at the cathedral we noted the tour group entrance was empty and played the dumb tourist, and were duly directed to a ticket window nearby and went straight in. The cathedral is just...

As a passenger you notice typical sequences. Recently on 2 TAP A332 flights it seemed a bit different. #1 was at Boston, where the engines were powered up at the gate and run for 10 minutes before push back. #2 was on approach to Newark. After a normal descent, we were held at maybe 6000ft...

New Qantas Money (QTMC) formerly Qantas Cash Card website is now live

A PS... Can't even use the message form on Qantas money website "contact us" page, as the drop down list to select reason is broken, and you cannot send the message without it. Looks like it has to be a phone call.

New Qantas Money (QTMC) formerly Qantas Cash Card website is now live

Have just been caught out by the SMS 2FA when the relevant phone is not roaming. The Qantas money help info says you can opt for alternate verification method on the screen to enter the code, but that is not appearing for me. Any suggestions ?

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

In end not sure there was any point as many connections needed changes anyway, and burning more fuel would not have helped. We made it to JFK via AA about 6 hrs later than planned so not the end of the world as we know it. The glass half full view was less traffic meant a quicker taxi ride...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

On 93, as we approach revised departure time, captain advised fuel was being added to fly faster. Wondering how much faster it can go, but also hoping this means trying to minimise the delay for the JFK flight with us on board.

Sorry if I confused. The extra 90 minutes was from the announcement at 10, so consistent with website.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Cabin crew gave everyone water bottle after the original 30 min delay, when captain advised it was minor / not a safety issue and a matter of future maintenance planning. No other info on severity etc, but there is a cabin full of patient folks here just chatting calmly, and wondering about...

Hi M1, am on 93 today. The problem is a bird strike was identified on the walk around. Captain advised not a safety issue, but paperwork needed to send us on way. At 9.30 told it would be probably be another hour... IB

TAP (Portugal) just cancelled my flight

closing the loop here. The contact number provided was in Portugal, but had some connection issues when I tried it. That might have been a temporary glitch. In meantime sent an email to TAP customer care, indicating we were flexible and would either : - accept their proposed direct flight...
