    Qantas booking cancellation (under covid19)

I had a flight to LAX dep 23 Mar, but blinked first (opted to cancel myself) on 19 Mar. I chose a refund, even though I would be slugged ~$600 cxl fees. I figured I could claim this back on travel insurance, less $250 excess, since date of purchase was prior to COVID-19, and date of cxl was...

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

My flight BNE-LAX dep 23 Mar is still on the board, so I guess Qantas isn't going to cancel it now, and it's up to me.

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

ANZ Premium Cards insurance has "Interstate Flight Inconvenience Insurance" but the cancellation conditions are a bit different from international cover.

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

Wow, that would be better than having to fly by 31 Oct in my case. Though it's now a worry about viability of the whole airline industry 🙁 So how long were you on the phone waiting for customer service?

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

I'm doing exactly that too (only got 5 days though). I'm not confident the public health situation in USA will be back to normal by October, and it'd probably be impossible to get travel insurance for a trip to USA while situation is still dicey. Maybe I will take the voucher and fly to Fiji in...

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

From Qantas website FAQ's: • Validity of credit voucher - All credit vouchers are valid one year from the actual date your original booking was created. NOTE: Not the credit voucher creation date. • Credit voucher definition - It is a credit from a booking that has been cancelled. The credit...

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

Okay, if that is the same for QF voucher conditions, then I will have to book new tickets before Oct 2020 (12mth from original purchase date), and fly before 23Mar 2021 (12mth from original departure date). This would make sense (though would like to go even later), and I can live with that...

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

This per today's AFF article: "your new travel dates can be any time within 12 months of the original booking dates" So if correct that means I need to book AND FLY by Oct 2020 in my case. Anyone else have another take on this?

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to 2019 n-CoV (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

Glad I waited to pull the pin on my QF BNE-LAX-BNE, one Saver, one Sale Economy fare, dep 23/3. I purchased in Oct 2019, so if I understand correctly, I can cancel, accept a voucher for full value paid, then use the voucher to make a new booking 'change-fee free' up to Oct 2020, plus pay any...

Thanks for the info. I feel better laying out the cash for this now.

Question Is the HKG Plaza Premium First lounge any good?

Thank you for the info. I also saw on Trip advisor that it's well-rated. Just wish their 30% discount offer extended to October!

Question Is the HKG Plaza Premium First lounge any good?

In Oct my husband (QFF Bronze) is flying from IAD (Dulles) to BNE via HKG on Cathay Pacific (booked using QFF Classic Economy Rewards). After a ~16 hour long haul from DC, the stop in HKG will be welcome, but with a ~7 hour layover I think it may be a good idea to purchase a pass to the Plaza...
