    Thank you for your loyalty

In that case, a short hop booked when the next domestic sale is on will be cheapest.

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

With one exception, silver's not really worth busting a gut for. One lounge pass and priority check-in are the main benefits (and seat selection if not booked through Qantas directly). The one exception is if you're flying in the US soon as Oneworld Ruby saves you a motza on checked bag fees on...

    Advice on champagne

Need to have at least $312.50 in the cart to apply both CHEERS20 and SAVE30. Coles Plus Saver at $7 per month for another 10% off. Note it goes by calendar month so can do an order in August and an order in September.

Citi Ready Credit - 70k Velocity points with $500 balance transfer

Oh, that makes it tricky for me. Wondering whether it's still worth waiting until the end of September to give my number for my Qantas points in the hope they're slow (so as to get them in my new membership year starting 1 November) or getting the bird in the hand now. Decisions, decisions...

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Good point - If going the Coles Plus Saver route, note it goes by calendar month too (rather than subscription month), so place one order in August and one in September to maximise the benefits.

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

I totally agree that having a 31 October membership year end is the pits when they pull this sort of stuff! I have 719 SCs at the moment with 14 more to come, having carefully planned out falling over the line to SG. The 80 SCs are nigh on useless given they don't contribute to lifetime status...

CHEERS20 for 20% off at Coles until 2 September. Two uses. $75 max discount per use. SAVE30 may also take $30 off for orders over $250. (EDIT NB The $250 spend must be AFTER the CHEERS20 coupon has been applied so you need $312.50 for this to take).

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

There was no time bound on that statement, unlike the credit cards where Citi represented their fee-free nature would be 'for life'. So it'll be interesting to see what emerges there.

    NAB acquires Citibank Australia

Seems so. I've just switched everything back to my MacBank account. I'm guessing the Online Saver interest will be next (although it's untouched at least for now, overdraft interest rate aside). It'll be interesting to see what happens with those of us who still possess fee free 'for life'...

FCO-DXB-SYD on EK Metal booked via QF

It *usually* shows up on the Qantas website but you should be able to put the QF one in on the EK website.

FCO-DXB-SYD on EK Metal booked via QF

If you book through QF, there's a separate PNR for EK (whether booked as a CR on an EK code or as a revenue fare on QF codes). As a LTG, you'll get standard and preferred seat selection for free (but the good seats like 68A and 68K cost more - my dad is booked into 68A and 68B with his partner...

KrisFlyer devaluation beginning Nov 1st 2025

If the transfer rate to Velocity is 2:1 (as it often is), and there's a 15% transfer bonus, it's better funneling through VA first as you end up with about 10% more points than a straight 3:1 conversion. Still, the choice is not particularly appealing: book through VA and cop the huge carrier...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

They're ratcheting up my spend for not many extra points. Wanting an $80 spend for 700 points. And 15x points for poultry is, well, paltry. So pass.

    Emirates First seat Melbourne DXB-MEL

The difference between the non-'Gamechanger' first class seats on both the A380 and 77W is basically just the colour of the trim (on some very old 77Ws, the screen is also smaller and lo-res) and a slightly higher door. It's a lot less blingy and more muted on the new version. Review: "New"...

JAL J Redemption via QFF taxes

JAL bases their carrier charges on fuel prices. https://press.jal.co.jp/en/fares/ details what they were. At the time you booked, it was 35000 yen, but now it's 21000 yen. EDIT - current amounts for travel originating outside Japan can be found here...

Not bad at all. Love the Laphroaig 10 - so much better than the Select. (I got my last bottle through Coles for $60 with the recent $50 off $200 SAVEMORE coupon, as the craft beer I ordered alongside it was mysteriously out of stock at the Liquorland store next door to my Coles and so couldn't...

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

I think the Qantas booking engine is screwing up (again). The regular search does not show any F availability on 25 April 2026, for example, but it does show in multi-city booking.
