My first ReSmart pickup has just gone off without a hitch. :) Two more to go and the fourth leaf will be completed.

Change Economy Lite Booking on Singapore Airlines

I'd look to change the other flight. Otherwise I'd imagine you'll be reliant on SQ changing the timing on the flight (which then gives a degree of flexibility to the ticket).

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

Nope. (Points/SCs still not there, and others reporting the same issue on Reddit. So will need to assemble the boarding passes and email them off I guess.) EDIT - points have come through 24 hours after making the claim and 15 hours after the claim was stated to be successful.

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

There seems to be something weird going on with crediting Qantas points on EK codeshares. My dad and his partner just got back from Milan after three weeks away but no points have been credited. Did a retroclaim for dad through the Qantas site today and it now says 'successful' but still no...

Earn up to 110 Qantas Status Credits on the ground

People needing to complete the Shopping category should note Apple gift cards are 10x points on Qantas Marketplace, meaning a $100 spend will get you the SCs. https://marketplace.qantas.com/au/p/apple-digital-gift-card/AU100126615 (EDIT Also note that for me at least, it tried to revert to...

    Sydney Airport hotel recommendations

FWIW, I have the Pullman booked later this month (next to the Ibis). Arriving DOM, departing INT the next morning. Choice was mainly influenced by status and price. The Pullman is a couple of stops along on the 350 bus route from out the front of T3 domestic going to Bondi Junction (the long...

Release of 1000 Biz Rewards seats to Paris ( and more)

The QF bulk release is Feb and March. There were a few out of PER and SYD, none out of MEL (at least not forcing a multicity connection).

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Yes, they can regulate the merchant rate, and no they're not limited to who they regulate (provided there's a nexus to a payment system).

By capping merchant fees that Amex charges. But this wasn't canvassed because legislation covering Amex hadn't yet passed.

Citi cards become myCard - no more CX, KF, EY, QR from 16/11/25

I'm still on FFFL, so will hang onto it. But while the Citi points crediting was opaque, it got it right, unlike NAB. (I'm keeping my nose clean to try and get an Amex Qantas Ultimate as a long term keeper because the earn rate is much better and the travel credit offsets the annual fee. But I...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

They did. They indicated a preference for banning surcharges, and limiting interchange fees. However, the legislation to regulate Amex etc hadn't passed Parliament at the time consultation kicked off so Amex's fees were not included. One thing at a time...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

By influencing the price Amex charges directly... As seen with the caps on fees merchants can charge their customers (which as noted are limited by the standard to the 'cost of acquisition'), the RBA's powers are not limited to 'interchange' fees. Any Amex fees can be regulated once the...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Section 18A is needed to authorise potentially anti-competitve conduct in the setting of wholesale fees by the providers. It replaced regulations that did the same thing and I'd imagine that similar regs would be needed if the RBA went down the path of regulating Tyro fees.

    Or Tyro's for that matter.

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Yup - it's (another) good reason for just banning surcharges. There are also rules around transparency (i.e. disclosure of surcharges) enforced by the ACCC that seem to be more honoured in the breach than the observance. Just ban them!

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Credit and debit card interchange fees between acquirers (like Tyro or merchants) and issuers (Visa and Mastercard) are directly capped at between 20 and 80 basis points (which has the practical effect of limiting the fees payment providers like Tyro charge end users), while merchants are...
