Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

It's the world's longest refurb. Announced in 2017, started in 2019.. will seemingly finally finish in 2025 with the return of OQC. And it was really only a refurb to the upper deck with new J, and PE seats. First and Y just got a touch-up - resurfacing with slightly different colour scheme in...

Club Jetstar Extras announced: Qantas Frequent Flyer Extra

Only for the add-on (you have to already be buying the base fare) Eg. For SYD-ICN the Business Max fare is typically $200 more than Business and earns 125 SC.. even better value on the return as it's the only way to access the oneworld ICN lounge. And 8.4k to 16.9k FF points depending on status...

Happens at many airports. Even SYD - QR to NZ lounge - MH to Plaza Premium - BA to The House

Qatar Lounge Bangkok before Qantas flight

That BKK Airport policy was fairly short lived. It should be possible to access QR and CX at present, But QR will be moving it's lounge to the Satellite terminal soon (joining EK) and it's currently only possible to access this terminal if you depart from it...

Club Jetstar Extras announced: Qantas Frequent Flyer Extra

An interesting offer.. Really only valuable to those who fly a decent amount on JQ as you need 15 Domestic flights (or 8 International) to maximise it, and even then you are still paying $2.65/ SC. Whereas some of JQs Business Max add-ons can be as low as $1.60/SC with other benefits as well...

Cathay Pacific to stop FF changing after check in

Actually the wording seems to be in the main T&C and seems designed to stop card flashing. (Screenshot per FT thread)

United Airlines argues ‘window seat’ does not mean ‘seat with a window’

Pretty sure on almost every airline contract seats aren't guaranteed. And on almost every aircraft model there will be windowless seats, typically where fuselage joins are. But id want a refund if I ended up in that seat after selecting window. Different if one specifically selected that seat...

Major Hilton tier changes coming - new Diamond Reserve tier, others downgraded

Interesting. Presumably no CCs will provide Diamond Reserve, and the spend requirement will rule out many mattress runners. I'm somewhat surprised that they didn't follow IHG and split off lounge access to a separate requirement.

Cathay Pacific to stop FF changing after check in

Presumably written into the Asia Miles T&C.. So can they prevent you flipping between two other programs. And all because CX doesn't properly support FQTV and FQTS.

Virgin Sydney Premium Entry Permanently Closing

I'd say any lounge renewal at T2 also depends on the airports new T2/T3 connector plans and how that might interface to the lounge. The preliminary envelope design gets pretty close to the lounge. VA and partners might push for an international exit from their lounge for example.
