    Contact Centre Madness = Unnacceptable

As much as I hate the call centre wait times and inept web chat agents, that is not a factor for me when I select an airline. 95% of the time I don’t need to use these services. It hasn’t always been this way.

Qantas Website won't let you pay!

You can book with any travel agent. As long as a PNR is generated with a QF (081) eticket.

    Contact Centre Madness = Unnacceptable

I’ve waited much longer than 2 minutes as WP

    Contact Centre Madness = Unnacceptable

You can’t select for domestic, international is only within 7 days for select services

    Contact Centre Madness = Unnacceptable

I would like a more reliable webchat staffed by competent agents (it's hit and miss at the moment) - with SG/WP getting looked after by dedicated people - and run the service 24/7. The "wait until something pop up unless it doesn't pop up and then we can't help you" is such a terrible system...

Qantas Group Reducing services by effectively grounding 18 Aircraft due to Coronavirus

Terrible time for VA to launch a new route

QF fleet renewal still a long way off

You might want to re-read my post and then google what avionics means. 1582612815 And the CEO of IAG (BA etc) bought how many aircraft? While they were grounded?

QF fleet renewal still a long way off

And if this forum existed 30 years ago I’m sure people would have been saying the same about the A320. There is no fundamental aerodynamic or structural problem with the aircraft - it’s software / avionics which will be fixed. 737 Max will be the safest aircraft in the sky when it’s cleared to...

QF fleet renewal still a long way off

Why wouldn't he consider them? Qantas's domestic fleet is heavily invested in Boeing 737, it's the logical option. Like BA did, now is the time to secure them at a great price. The A320 itself had 4 fatal accidents within its first 6 years of operation - a big factor being pilots being...

Qantas law unto themselves - don't waste your time with ACA complaint

I had a friend (not the brightest guy TBH), check in a bag without a Q-tag (I was guesting him into the BNE J lounge and we were using the premium check in area). He didn't print a barcode and checked his bag in at the kiosk, and it took his bag away. When I questioned him on it (knowing he...

Qantas Website won't let you pay!

Did a sale end between the weekend and now? I just requoted the trip I booked on the weekend, the price has gone up by $1000 yet according to EF the exact same fare classes as I got are all still available for each leg. I wonder if QF forgot to jack the prices up before launching DSC? I...

Qantas law unto themselves - don't waste your time with ACA complaint

If Qantas are to blame for this incident, it's for publishing 45 minutes as the recommended arrival time. I think that's too short - if 30 minutes is the drop dead bag closure time, 15 minutes is not enough time for everybody to be arriving in the terminal and checking their bags. They really...

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-26 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

Careful, if you don't get a new PNR you won't get the DSC. I'd try doing this over the phone.

Qantas Website won't let you pay!

I had this issue on a multi city flight. For some reason HNL-SYD was showing D/I availability, the connecting SYD-BNE was showing D/I availability but HNL-SYD-BNE showed D0 I0 (confirmed on expert flyer). So the Qantas website was showing the trip as available but would crash out at the...

Qantas law unto themselves - don't waste your time with ACA complaint

If you're standing in a queue within T-30 you really need to make a fuss. I always have trouble with the bag drop machines so I just go straight to the normal check in line. They at least (usually) call forward pax as flights are closing. This seems like an isolated incident and nothing...

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-26 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

Has anyone experienced delays for international ticketing this weekend? I'm still waiting for a ticket I booked on Friday afternoon. Web chat assures me all is OK but still haven't seen it. I expected a slight delay due to DSC but this seems a bit much.

There’s much more to elite status than lounge access and priority check in.

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I’d work on $5/SC being quite good, below that is a bargain. Anything more than $10/SC is a ripoff. These are the pre-DSC amounts, but you expect the same value regardless. OWS (Sapphire) is where it’s at. There are so many more benifits than Qantas Club. Especially if you are based in...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

DPS-SYD-MEL return in J will get you 320 SCs, so 640 with DSC. Around A$2000-$2500. Jetstar Asia SIN-DPS return with a max bundle would get you the remaining 60 SCs. You'd have to do it as two bookings though, otherwise it would try to sell you the SIN-MEL fare which is much, much higher...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Assuming you can qualify for the full amount (700 SC), it is better to wait until May, because then you will get to keep your Gold status until Apr 2022 - so basically two years worth of being Gold. If you qualify in Apr, you will only keep it until Apr 2021.
