    Contact Centre Madness = Unnacceptable

If you are able, try calling well outside normal hours. I rang the call centre the other night at around 1am and got through straight away.

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

It's been taking hours for the gift voucher confirmations to arrive in my experience. Hamsters working overtime on the Qantas IT systems treadmill.

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

So you can only use the credit on other flexi fares? No red e-deal (sale) or saver ("normal" economy) fares? Further, if you want to to use the credit on a business/premium economy class fare, does that mean you can only use it on a flexi business/PE class and not a sale or saver business/PE...

Upgrading flights on Qantas site fails - "PNR was not found in the URL"

I got this error a few weeks ago when upgrading (or checking on the status of an upgrade request, rather) a flight. It went away after a couple of days. Granted, this isn't helpful if you need to action something now.

P1 status run- can it be done?

Gift vouchers are apparently hit and miss. A safer method seems to be to buy a flexi fare, cancel it and take the voucher.

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

I used my $450 Amex travel credit, booked via the Amex travel website, for a DSC trip in late 2018 and received the extra SCs. I haven't used the travel credit for DSC bookings since then, but assume that it will continue to work.

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

That's true. But you can't use gift vouchers for Qantas Business Rewards bookings (as far as I can tell), and you can get cheaper seats through QBR than for persona bookings. This (depending on the price difference for the fare involved) can make booking through QBR more cost-effective than...

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

You might be right - my memory is a bit fuzzy. I've bought four gift vouchers and am trying to decide if I should buy some more before tomorrow for travel I'm likely to take in the next 12 months (but don't have dates for yet).

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

Hm. I seem to recall seeing gift voucher bookings on my MMB screen even before making the actual flight booking. That gave me some comfort that the DSCs would come through even if I booked the flight after the "book by" offer period (as long as the travel was within the "travel by" offer period...

Answered QF11/12 - "Individual seat selection isn't available for this flight."

For a recent QF11/QF12 flight, I was not able to select seats online when I made the booking a few months ago. (Used the call centre instead.) However upon booking QF11/QF12 the other night for an upcoming flight I was pleased to find that seats for both legs - SYD-LAX and LAX-JFK, outbound...

Qantas Website won't let you pay!

I also had this issue for one of my DSC bookings but was able to resolve it via the call centre and paying over the phone. Got through immediately, but granted it was around 1am. The operator confirmed there would be no phone booking fee.

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

I think they may have closed this loophole. I bought some gift vouchers on the assumption I'd be able to use them to book DSC-eligible flights after the 25th of February (but travelling before the travel expiry period in February 2021). However I noticed - only after the fact - that there's no...

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

It turns out that if I'd bothered to log into my QBR account, there's a notification that confirms (promotes even) that company travellers get the DSCs.

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

That hadn't occurred to me. I'm not quite sure how the QBR program works. Thanks for the tip!

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

After having experimented some, it looks like you cannot redeem gift vouchers for QBR flights. Further, the QBR member discount (even at level 1) offers up cheaper fares than are available via the gift voucher redemption search, at least for the flights I was looking at (JFK, LHR). While you...

Global Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (Book 20-25 Feb 2020; Fly: 28 Feb 2020-14 Feb 2021)

Good to know that the gift voucher language appears to be as before. This should mean - if Qantas applies the same logic as before - that if I buy a gift voucher - and therefore generate a PNR - before 25 February, and redeem it in - say - April, for travel in - say - December, then the DSC...

    Qantas Status Credits Bonus Offers

Did Qantas, by chance, clearly define "participate"? Say you got a DSC in April 2019, where the offer travel period covered April 2019 to January 2020. Back in April 2019 you booked a January 2020 flight. So the DSC flight was booked more than six months ago, but the DSC flight itself was...

Question Sydney to New York Return Flight.

For me, it would also depend on what my post-arrival travel plans were. If I needed to dive straight into some activities after getting into New York, but had a day or so to recover after flying back to Sydney, I'd probably go for the business class seat for the outbound leg to feel more fresh...

    Qantas Status Credits Bonus Offers

Here you go. As mentioned, I got the offer last year. I then booked a year's worth of international travel in response to the offer.

    Qantas Status Credits Bonus Offers

While I was indeed talking about upgrade eligibility in my post, the personalised DSC offer I took advantage of explicitly did not apply to sale fares. Only saver fares and up were eligible for DSCs. The offer also only applied to international flights, not domestic. The DSC offer was...
