Tricky in terms of getting MR into airlines... the main benefit of MR is banking points so you're not stuck in an airline that may devalue them at any time It would make the 'long' game is a waste of time unless you are using the points at least a couple of times a year (hard for some of us !)

Yes this is my understanding. If you try and fill it out online it makes you say “Under the penalties of perjury, I certify that: ... 3. I am a US citizen or other US person and ..." Which obviously doesn't apply to us, and there is no option to alter this.

This. The annual fee is not outrageous, and you no longer need to jump through all the hoops you would when starting from scratch outside the US

I was ultra cautious with C1. US only (online) spend prior to receiving the physical card. Then physical card use in store, then Apple Pay, and now lots of virtual cards. It’s a great feature (virtual cards)

If you just need a minimum deposit per month, why don’t you set up a virtuous circle of deposits ? Eg Amex -> Citi -> BoA -> Chase -> back to Amex etc
