An update on this - Velocity has denied me the bonus SCs because I was only approved for the card during the promo period, and I needed to have applied and been approved during the promo period. Tried to argue the case in online chat, got told definitively 'no'.

I was approved for an Amex Velocity Platinum card literally on the day this promo started, however I didn't 'pick' my bonus until after the card was approved. What are the odds I can still make a case for the SCs from Velocity?

Mine says the same but the activation text message makes note of the Velocity aspect, and the welcome email has Velocity branding even though it only says 'Value Saver'.
