Virgin 737-8 Max Business Class - No Divider

Onboard VH-IWX and we have old layout, but no divider between rows 2 and 3. Makes for a LOT of legroom in row 3 today 😎

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Admittedly I'm not a fan of eggs either, however with a pinch of salt these were okay. Also noting that the bacon, beans and rosti were all (relatively) separate to the eggs on the plate too :) I'm surprised with the current cost of eggs that alternative breakfast options aren't more prevalent...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Yesterday morning on my BNE-SYD we had a Byron Bay cookie pair supplied on the side with breakfast...forgetful me didn't snaffle them and they went back to the galley unopened 😪 Breakfast options were either Bacon, scrambled eggs, beans and rosti (which was delicious even if the eggs were a...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

It's all good, I had to drive home from the airport last night. More a comment in this case than anything.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

On a delayed MEL-BNE last night (353) - scheduled 20:50 departure pushed back to 21:55, which ended up being 22:18 push back and 22:48 wheels up...courtesy of some Melbourne fog rolling in as well. We were on VH-VUQ, so new layout, no divider or "magic rope", however didn't have any invasions...

    UpgradeMe pricing and success

Bid minimum + $1 (yes, $1) and was successful on tonight's MEL-BNE....Mrs Hawk also bid minimum + $1 and was unsuccessful as we're on separate PNR's. Is the protocol to send back a glass of red and crackers?? #askingforafriend 😎

    Virgin Australia B737 Max 8

The dividers shouldn't make a difference really. The existing VA cabin dividers took space out that it may not have needed to, whereas the FJ divider could well only be to top of seat height. What they bring to short-haul is that differentiation between J and Y that would cost them very little.

    Targeted offers

I find that if I make a flight search in the app and then don't proceed I'll get the reminder email, but haven't had a bonus offered before, so it must be a new targeting strategy the Work Experience kids have come up with.

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Called Velocity and spoke with offshore. They told me I'd have the statement within 2-3 business days...it was in my inbox within 30 minutes. Current total is sub 7K, so Forever Gold isn't going to be a target for the moment.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Have had a flight where I was asked to put it up and then have had another (more recently) where it was (rightly) allowed to go under. Considering how tough it is sometimes to get overhead space on some flights, it's helpful to have it available.

That looks like the Korean chicken I had on BNE-MEL on Friday. Chicken was nice (although zero spice) however the broccoli was well overcooked and mushy.

True. For mine this is friend of a friend, so I am trusting that its legit, however (as always) caveat emptor.

Dilemma for the day (as a Swans fan) - take one ticket in a Lions bay (at cost price of $410)....or hang out for the chance that two tickets will come available???

    2024 AFL Grand Final

It's a prescribed match by the Vic government, so if you get caught selling for over the face value, there's a fair penalty. Having said that, a lot of people who bought packages are trying to offload for face value now whilst the market is hot with disappointed Swans & Lions fans.

    2024 AFL Grand Final

Same here. Flew down from Brisbane to watch the Prelim with Dad and then spent half an hour negotiating with the QANTAS app to grab him an airfare while he drove the M5. So having said that, we both have flights to/from MEL + a hotel, and now just looking for a pair of tickets. I picked up a J...
