Sydney to Amsterdam the long way - QF & AY in J and a river cruise

Unexpected good - GREAT! - news on the delayed bags. Finnair refused my claim as it was past 21 days of the event. Duh, I was just trying to enjoy a holiday and didn't want to deal with BS of insurance. QF bounced me to AY, stating it was the last carrier that had to stump up the compensation...

Best way to fly from Quito, Ecuador to Las Vegas

Thanks. We'll probably do the East Coast USA route with AA, I wasn't sure how the friendly folks employed by Homeland Security treated you when arriving from that part of the world.

Best way to fly from Quito, Ecuador to Las Vegas

All We need to get from Quito in Ecuador to Las Vegas in May 2025. I see we can do Copa via Panama, various via Miami and others. Are there any concerns flying into the US by any particular country? I don't really want to be interrogated at the US border for a poor decision. No real criteria...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Lowly WP. SCL-SYD mid-May 2025, 4 dates, 2 x J. Computer said no despite J sale on offer. (Luckily we had approved SYD-SCL in April 2025 last month) LAX-SYD, LAX-MEL, DFW-SYD, DFW-MEL same dates, same pax. Computer said yes. All approved on request, not sure what the RRP fare bucket had in it.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Yeah resembled a milk shake when the FA first poured it. I should have done the Pacific ale but I really wanted a Boags lager.

The one time I had a facial about 8 hours into the flight my eyes started to ache and burn. I thinks the treatment stuff reacted with me. It didn’t make me look like Tom Cruise as requested.

Sydney to Amsterdam the long way - QF & AY in J and a river cruise

Wildlife is our thing. Done Antarctica, the Arctic and planning Galapagos and Botswana. Pictures are all taken on a iPhone 13. I have $10,000 worth of camera stuff with a lens as long as your arm and I continually am amazed what an iPhone can do. Seriously ask why I have a 12Kg backpack full...

Sydney to Amsterdam the long way - QF & AY in J and a river cruise

Appreciate it. I'm just paying back. Without this forum there is no way I'd be flying business class anywhere and I'd still be thinking I was cool when I hit Silver once. Heck, our first OS trip we thought we were pretty neat and killing the system by paying something like 64,000 points each to...

Sydney to Amsterdam the long way - QF & AY in J and a river cruise

Homeward bound - LAX First lounge and QF11 We left the hotel at 5pm and got to TBIT not long after. I had checked and there was chat about an early check in counter being open. This was true, and they had all classes being accepted. Being one of them Platinum types we went to the front and were...

Sydney to Amsterdam the long way - QF & AY in J and a river cruise

Mid flight and LAX arrival (ugh) The flight was quite smooth and uneventful. Watched the one movie, played some hangman on the iPad and tried to read. Couple of beers and wines and water. Around Fort Collins or 3 hours out we started with the light meal service. I went for the Buddha plate...

Sydney to Amsterdam the long way - QF & AY in J and a river cruise

On the plane - Up, Up and Away Boarding was easy as it was mostly First and Business people on the first bus. My only gripe, and I believe it valid as a WP, is that the First class people have someone guide them from the door to their seat, I guess in case they get lost on the way. Anyway, all...

British Airways BA 281 LHR - LAX - 777 with J suites; The Lounge experience and the boarding debacle. I was looking forwards to this, for two reasons - Never been on a 777 and wanted to see what the J suites were like as the only other BA flights we'd been on were A380 with the god-awful 4...
