    EK Dubai Lounge Alternative?

On my only transit there some years ago, I sought quiet in the Prayer Room, only to find it occupied by a bunch of women chattering as they changed their babies' nappies.

Article: Best Credit Cards for Overseas Travel & Online Shopping

This is currently under discussion on the Whirlpool finance forum. Many people are reporting long delays with applications for the Bendigo card.

    Business Class: numbers or psychology?

With increasing age and decreasing mobility, a lie-flat seat on a long-haul flight becomes a necessity rather than an indulgence.

SQ321 LHR-SIN Encountered Severe Turbulence [At least 1 Fatality and 30 Injured]

I think that's what I ended up with but I had to ask for cabin crew help to get settled.

SQ321 LHR-SIN Encountered Severe Turbulence [At least 1 Fatality and 30 Injured]

I encountered a shoulder + lap seat-belt for the first time on an A350-900 SQ flight recently. I found it very uncomfortable and hard to adjust, especially when lying flat, perhaps because I've shrunk with age to barely 5ft. Are these seat-belts likely to become more common?

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Maybe this should be in the lounges forum, but I was disappointed that the recently refurbished SQ Business lounge at LHR was not available on the evening of 1st August. No-one seemed able to tell me what the problem was; flooding, perhaps? So I had to make do with the United Club lounge...

Melbourne EV Car Ride Service - GoBlu-EV

Used GoBlu-EV for trip to Melbourne airport from Brunswick in early July. I used email as I don't have a mobile phone, but they accommodated that and let me know the name of the driver, confirmation of time and cost. Arrived on time and took my luggage down the external stairs for me. Latvian...

Bellinis are offered as a pre takeoff drink, and I enjoyed a large Singapore sling on my SIN->MEL flight last night.

    Where to obtain Euros?

Thanks, kpc, but wouldn't the ATM just spit out larger denomination notes?

    Where to obtain Euros?

I need to obtain low value Euros for small purchases, entrance fees, donations at monasteries, taxis and tips on the smaller Greek islands while on a cruisein a few days' time. Where best to do the exchange? At Melbourne Airport pre-flight (using ING Everyday account; at Heathrow before my...

    Travel insurance for over 80s

That's odd. My policy was certainly for a single trip, but I did take it out through a "cruise specialist" travel agent, so perhaps Go Insurance have different rules for individuals and for the "trade".

Korean Air 737MAX8 Has Pressurization Event

From the 9 News online report of this event: >The aircraft was diverted back to Incheon and landed safely more than three years after it took off.< ETA: corrected now of course, but it was definitly 'years' for a while.

My sister lives in the Usk valley a little west of Brecon so those flights are a frequent noisy nuisance.

Seemingly trivial reasons why you choose one hotel/airline/shop over another

Years ago, when I ran a business whose busiest day was Christmas Eve, I would fly to the UK on Christmas Day to spend the Christmas break with my family there. At first it was with BA, but when they stopped flying from Melbourne, I tried Qantas. And hated the cabin crew wearing Santa Claus hats...

Qantas dropped the ball with a flyer with a disability

That's been my standard experience when needing wheelchair assistance, not travelling with QF. It's what the ground staff pushing the wheelchair expect, certainly at LHR. Not easy to manage, especially if one is short and lacking upper body strength.
