Return flights from our trip out to the USA tonight from LAX - SYD. Seperate DSC bookings on Economy Flex for Mrs Goosh (Gold) and myself (platinum). Both received text message at 2:08pm LA time to say upgrade request not successful.

The thing is, no flights were Classic Rewards. They are all paid for (Economy Flex), and we have the receipts for the payments. We just booked on separate bookings (DSC), and mine came through, and hers came up as Classic Reward flights.

Bit of a random one, Mrs Goosh has not received her SC for flights to USA. Booked in Economy Flex. Part of her flights are coming up as Classic Flight Rewards, which is strange as all flights were on the one booking and all paid for. MEL - SYD - received 0 SC (Classic Flight Reward) - expected...

In the QF first lounge at TBIT as planned. Took 90 min to get through border control, so by the time got into the lounge we have 2 hours before our next flight.

Well going by our recent flights: I'm 3 from 6 (1 business, and 2 premium) as Gold Mrs Goosh is 5 from 8 (4 business, 1 premium) as Gold She's had the better run and luck, so it's my turn, this being the first as Platinum :D.

Thanks for that, at least some hope for premium upgrade. Looking on ExpertFlyer, business shows 7 white seats, and premium shows 24. Will let Mrs Goosh have some hope and wait till she gets an alert about any potential upgrades.

Flying QF11 on Sunday landing in LAX at 14:20, with a layover of 5h 35min before flying QF3717 LAX - PDX at 19:55. Reviewing comments here and online, I will be able to land, get past customs, grab luggage, bag drop then can walk either airside or curbside. Did the same trip last year only...

She has managed to delay her airport transfer so able to spend a bit more time at the hotel, with some work colleagues who are there for a few more days. Hopefully the lounges stay open and she can relax in there before the flight. Not ideal but it is what it is. Not many people on the flight...

Thanks for all the suggestions. Called the Sydney number again, which gave me another agent. Went through the process of saying I want to pay in USD, after a couple of minutes of checking, was able to make it happen and got the tickets issued right away.

Trying to book an AA flight with the hold and call the Sydney number, but seems they do not like it. Followed the process earlier today at midday, and now at 6:50pm get an email saying to contact them. Call the sydney number again, and the person on the phone says its an issue with charging...

I think the only issue with this price of $689 US is that it is per person, and not for 2. The prices in my table were for 2 pax. Redo of the table to compare of the per person cost and total for 2 pax, with varied options.
