Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

You can guarantee this will change and move forward. And the overseas arrival 'home quarantine; at 80% - won't happen and will get changed given Sydney will already be 6 weeks into their no quarantine.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

We were at a funeral on Friday after a sudden passing, as with so many, a lot of family couldn't make it due to borders - so seeing this announcement by NSW was a good positive on a bad day. It is a move that will force the hand of most other states, just maybe not WA. Given the changing tide...

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

This post made me go back and have a look if I had points refunded from a change I made 12 months ago from a OWA, I thought I had but turns out no points refunded (taxes were though). I will be putting this on the list to now chase up this week!!

Card Promotions Qantas Premium AMEX 75k QFF Points

This may not be strictly by the rules and completely against AFF churning 'law', but if I have a card that I need to meet the spend on and know I won't get there - for instance if we have a couple of new cards at the same time and no larger purchases - I just get my partner to request money via...

    Flowers in Toowoomba

The Jacaranda's all still have flowers on them now. While winter can be absolutely miserable up here sometimes with a howling Southerly, spring is a beautiful time of year up this way.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Did I miss something, since when have you been able to apply for Chase cards with only an ITIN? I thought they stopped that a fair while ago....??..

Card Promotions ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum: 75,000 QFF points. $0 fee.

Same here (except no ID required, maybe because I've already been a customer??). Applied Sunday (uploaded payslips then as well) and received 'card on its way' confirmation email midday today - no phone call or anything. Very nice!

Card Promotions ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum: 75,000 QFF points. $0 fee.

Thanks, all done and verfication documents uploaded - we'll see how long it all takes now. Great that this offer was still around, my 12 months exclusion with ANZ ended 9 July and I only just realised!

Card Promotions ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum: 75,000 QFF points. $0 fee.

Looks like this link still states 75K points & No fee, whereas the 'normal' page is 60K/No fee or the Black is 100K/$275 fee - so this link is a much better deal. I normally take a screenshot when thes types of offers differ from one's that are on the banks promotional page - anything else I...

Keep Virgin Australia in the Skies

Why would they stump up $$ when they're all struggling as well, they also probably thought that the Australian Gov'n would provide some sort of financing given this has been a pretty common theme in the current environment with other international governments and their airline sectors. I think...

Keep Virgin Australia in the Skies

I've signed the petitions. While I agree Virgin needs to stay functioning, I don't believe the Government should be providing a bailout with no conditions attached - it has already provided QF & VA with 'cash' through waiving fees. I think any assisstance should be akin to what the NZ...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Central bank's are actually purchasing (mostly) government debt as part of QE, the idea is to increase bond prices and reduce yields. The institutions then selling those bonds improve their liquidity due to bond sales, and will look to invest in other assets with a greater return (so the money...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

The AUD has always been seen to be a risk proxy for currency, and that has certainly been the case over the past few weeks.

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

And about to go up by another trillion (so will then be over 150% GDP) over the next few months by the looks of it, and investors are ecstatic that the US debt is going to balloon even further....

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

2.3 trillion & 106% to GDP, and investors continue to gobble up their bonds whenever a new round is issued. Now I'd hazard a guess there are much smarter people on this forum then I in regards to economics, but I swear just over a decade ago when we were discussing Debt to GDP in uni that a...

Points Club [launched in March 2020]

With the introduction of lounge passes & QC membership for the different 'Points Club' levels, the banks will probably now start removing these 'benefits' from their QFF branded cards - well that is only if you think banks will be looking to take any little increase to margins on their credit...

Travelling the Golden Battle born Pelican Empire

The next day saw us head over to Alcatraz, what an interesting place. And while the prison and prisoners are the centrepiece, what was also very interesting was hearing about how many kids lived on the island and about their daily routines - imagine looking back at your childhood and having...
