Advice on limits for applications, and more.

I'm nearly 10 years retired and have returned from our third One World Award going RTW thanks to cards. Retirement does give you the flexibility required to find J awards (BC), when you have lower status.

    Ask The Pilot

Experienced pretty extreme Chop last night on JL771 about 10 minutes after climb out of NRT. Pilot said due to unexpected wind. The 789 was shaking (seemed violently at the time) for 5 maybe 10 minutes. Does the captain (or a computer) stabilise this or is it just a matter of continue on...

We had several operational issues for our current J Award, resulting in a new GCM of 36,850 miles and flying one sector on a Sky Team airline (DL). Only risk remaining is substituting the old 774 on QF25 with a smaller aircraft (with downgrade).

We had a delayed AA domestic flight last month, due to mechanical problem, that would have missed an AA connecting flight. AA booked us on a Delta flight going direct without a connection. Even though it was not One World, it had no impact on our remaining award flights

Dec 4: last QF 747 service to the USA

Odd numbered window row J seats are more 'private' as the seat is configured on the window side, where even numbered rows have the seat/bed on the more exposed aisle side. Some rows have one window others one & half. Maybe someone gets two? Otherwise not a lot of difference. And nice to have...

Our main concern was the effect on the OWA flights (would there be two no shows?) and using a Sky Team airline. But worked out in the end.

Returned from our 'RTW itinerary' (HKG, LHR, DUB, LIS, LHR, AUS-PHX-SLC, SFO, SYD with NRT-SYD to come). AA was a problem from AUS, with aircraft requiring repair, thus would miss connection in PHX. Stressed checkin agent eventually booked us on Delta (Y) direct AUS-SLC. Had no effect on...

may be worth checking to see if it's a married segment (QR). Try putting a break of more than 24 hours between the flights to see if it makes a difference (you could use a dummy booking to test for just the flight in and out of DOH).
