FAA to Relax Rules for Gadgets in Flight [WSJ]

About bloody time! This way I don't have to buy a magazine to read for the times on take off and landing (below/above 10,000 feet). If everyone moved to e-readers/tablets I wouldn't have people spreading out across the seats with their broad sheets. Just wish it had been the case when I was...

    The End - sort of...

Thanks all - already planning a J flight to Fiji next year with the family, then there is the trip to the US via tokyo in 2015 for wife's 40th and the motorcycle ride from NY to the San Diego Comic Con for my 50th (in a few years!) to plan ;)

    The End - sort of...

Well back again if only briefly. After four months without work (including weeks spent prepping the house for sale and an overseas vacation) - today I started my new job at [insert company here]! Great on some levels (income is good) but the downside for me (on some levels) is there is zero...

Qantas Chauffeur service - General Questions/Advice

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :) Spoke to Brunel on Friday - "larger" car will be supplied with no indication of an extra charge :) At DXB I will see if my parents have landed and will see if we can travel together - otherwise they will just get a cab.

Qantas Chauffeur service - General Questions/Advice

QF Chauffeur drive - multiple pax and luggage Hi all Does anyone have recent experience with the QF chauffeur drive with multiple pax and luggage? We are flying SYD-DXB-SYD in J and have two adults and a four year old. The official rules are two bags per car but you can also order one car...

Not around much at the moment

No luck with the last one - had an interview yesterday. Planning to sell the house, rent for a while and get stuff together so the week we get back from DXB/LCA I will be moving us and clearing down the house - I am pretty exhausted at the moment.

Not around much at the moment

Absolutely exhausted! New garden path at the house, three car loads of rubbish sent to the tip, experimental cooking happening and 900 comics have been sorted (about 3000 to go :(). Quiet time in the [insert profession here] recruiting market so some challenging life decisions to make but...

    Ask The Pilot

Darn - I have been waiting for your Sep/Oct schedule for some time - looks like you wont be steering my flights on 16 Sep (SYD-DXB) and 5 Oct (DXB-SYD). Hopefully the pilot will be accommodating with a request for the small boy to see the coughpit at the end of the flight...

Not around much at the moment

Just in case anyone was wondering since being made redundant I don't think I have ever been as busy - mostly with jobs around the house. With a distinct lack of travel there hasn't been much to share either. I will be back at some point. Cheers and happy travels. S

    AFF "Concrete France" Trip 2014

The one flaw I see with this trip is the limited status credit earn routing direct to LHR via DXB. I am planning an alternate routing for those interested - SYD-MEL-HKG-HEL-TXL and finally to BRU. There is generally a fairly easy passage into France via Belgium and the locals supply some...

    Staff Upgrades

I wouldn't mind knowing this too - irrespective of the staff element it is horrible thing to do and a ridiculous request. If you want to be with your children - stay with them. It is the same with seat switchers - they never ask to go backwards - only forwards...

Personal Network/Contacts manager app - any ideas

Looks like Contacts Journal is closest - just doesn't have the functionality that I can see to show links between contacts

Personal Network/Contacts manager app - any ideas

Yeah - last time I looked I couldn't see much available. I hadn't thought of it as a variety of CRM - that might put a spin on things. I just found one that had some of the functions (Contacts Journal) but not the links between contacts. Thanks for the insight!

Personal Network/Contacts manager app - any ideas

Hi all Just mulling on something that has been on my mind for a while now and I have not been able to find a neat solution to a challenge I am having. In my current (and soon to be ex) role as [insert role] I work across a multinational corporation with a primary focus on the local...

2400 SCs earned, 4 more months of flying and won't make P1. What should I do.

CX are one of the airlines that you can do a challenge to get status I think. That will quickly take you to AA Platinum - same level as QF Gold. If doing lots of flying on CX than AA is a no brainer as you get the status bonus on CX that you don't get when crediting to QF. Status bonus for an...
