CHC Dinner Saturday 7th March 2020

Amazingly through an unexpected twist of fate I am Platinum. I booked a SYD-AKL 787 return fare during the launch sale a couple of months back during this weekend (stupidly I didn't realise it was a long weekend and booked the return flight on Sunday after thinking about how I couldn't convince...

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

Interesting. So if there is another International 50% discount on select international award bookings where you could get 55200 points to JFK return, then after deducting $360 for taxes on a Y return redemption to JFK and comparing to a from Sydney would be redeeming at 1.52 cents per point...

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

I think overall these changes are positive. I for one am reasonably contented given some of the speculation, and my own suspicion that there would be changes far more in line with AAdvantage's model. Anyone?

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

A thought, at 75000SC it would take 20.083* years to make LTP with QF. Given that they have indicated that there will be extra benefits for the status level, and that LTG is the initial year plus 22 years retainign SG + 100 SC, and LTS is the initial year + 26 years of retaining PS + 200SC, the...

Haha I hate that with fast moving forums. Reminds me of the old IRC Philosophy channel. By the time you typed your response there were another 100 messages.

I'd say that @JessicaTam is doing it right. Doing LTG with QF and then BAEC is definitely a cheaper than going to QF route

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

So if one were to go for LTG with QF (assuming it stays at 14000SC), then LTG with BAEC it would still take approximately 50% less SC than going for LTP with QF. Flood to BAEC anyone?

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

Looks like there is a 3 month "sweet" period where premium cabin recemption costs are not increased in cost and economy redemption costs are lowered. 20th June to 17th September. There is the statutory 3 month period. Sure they are changing the Y costs but who will pull Qantas up for making...

All very exciting. More seat availability is definitely a good thing. I wish I had popcorn but will be assessing a patient during the announcement and will no doubt return once all is said and done to see this thread size doubled ;).

Seeing 192000 QFFP for one way SYD-SIN in F in April 2020. More seats is definitely a great thing, but time will tell how the availability of "classic" flight rewards will be affected.

Qantas FF announcement 20 June - "biggest overhaul" in program history

There is an update going on for sure. Reward calendar giving false results, showing only Business seats but when you click there are First seats. SYD-DFW still pricing at 168000 in F and $478.72
