Volcanic eruption on White Island, NZ (outside of Tauranga)

Apologies to the Mods and thanks. Not related to the post either, sorry, but that point where the oceanic volcano occurred, is sometimes the turning point for flights from Aust to Auckland airport, if they make it over Auckland city, and then turn into the runway over Papatoetoe/Manukau way...

Lufthansa Group Partner with Virgin Australia ??)

They (VA) could form an alliance outside of *A, as they currently do have with as mentioned above, DL without joining Skyteam, or as they have with SQ without joining *A, or their code share agreement with NH ANA, where I could book a straight through ticket to get to Tokyo from Adelaide on the...

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Aud$3499. Can bear to do do whY ADL > MEL > ADL to meet the connection to MEL. VAd MEL > BNE VAi > HND Not too bad, considering SQ is asking more for J ADL > SIN > HND.

Question Problems changing KF miles to Velocity ?

Probably do a retro claim and see what happens, or happened. It might have gotten declined. I will never do as you did, learnt my lesson. SQ is very picky and will deny a lot of claims. Put in my SQ KF # onto a VAd flight once, didn't come through. Put in a retro claim with SQ KF, got declined...

Advice to get to Europe and back using Qantas points Oct 2020

UK APD is very expensive in J, tell her she could save a tonne so to speak, if she got something in Y from LHR to somewhere in Europe that EK flies from, to get to DXB to ADL. No direct QF flight or EK flight from SIN to ADL, unless she wants to pay for SQ J. With JQ there is SIN to DPS to ADL...

    Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

Does anyone else find out, that of late, when we go to BP ((or OTR for me in South Aust)), that the former way of getting bonus points, seems to have been done away with. Up to a few months ago, I would slide my VGW card down the right hand side of their EFTPOS reader, and the screen would ask...

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Re: the NH ANA and VA Virgin code share/FF agreement, that one is still in its early stages, being discussed I believe. Just wasn't that long ago that they mentioned it. Maybe give it 6 months to 12, possibly by then, the NH and VA agreement would be signed, and "down pat".

Advice to get to Europe and back using Qantas points Oct 2020

On here its mentioned the straight QFF points + pay system, is a very poor use of points, but with that side, once you book on line, and use points + pay to pay, the seat is yours. If you use the award system, it would depend on her status, if she is QFF NB, her chances of upgrade will be lower...

    Onboard Payment Options

Lets see, would definitely need a spoon to scoop up the pie meat, have eaten lots of pies in my time on dry land, (some people can bite into it without the sauce dripping onto clothing), and 2 wet wipes to wipe mouth after eating it. Will try it on one of my next PER - east coast trips down the...

Must say, that beef pie on the VAd menu looks quite nice, havn't had the chance to order it yet. Edit: just had a look myself, ... if you go to the Virgin Australia website, and look on/under On board menu, it does say ((Virgin Australia is cashless onboard, we accept Visa, Mastercard and...

    Velocity and Optus Partnership

As for whether Optus would want to do a credit check (worthiness check): (Nathant123), they probably would. I wanted to go with Optus post paid, a long time ago, I went to a booth at my shopping centre, they did their credit check, asked me how many hours I worked, and in what capacity, I am a...

    Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

Probably its the last swig of the VFF and BP liaison before the break up. No more bonus VFF points at BP after next year, still they will allow us to pay with VGW for 0.33 points per $1 spent at the least. Is it Mar or Apr when they break up their relationship?

    Onboard Payment Options

Debit card with visa or mastercard signs on it are ok for VA flights, have used them to pay for choccky bars on board. Haven't tried the visa or mastercard cards that you can get from Auspost or Coles though, or VGW, only true visa debit card. They will have card readers on one side of the...

best way to spend overseas? just realised the fees on virgin cards for OS transaction

If you want to use your own money, the forex rate might not be the best, the ING orange card is very good, if you have a while to go, and can open one in time, put in $1000 per month from any other bank account, and use the orange visa debit 5 times each month, they refund the foreign currency...
