Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

A journalist asks Brett Sutton whether Victorians can have confidence in contact tracing given that there are 28 cases related to the Chadstone outbreak while he doesn't think the Crossroads Hotel outbreak even got to that number. Obviously the journalist's research skills aren't that good. A...

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

You’re lucky! They want me to spend $340 each week for 10,000 points. This is crazy. They need to improve their analytics.

I can judge that for myself next week! 😁🛫

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

I in no way meant to infer that ethnicity plays into your opinion. However, I think it clearly does play into the reaction of Andrew Bolt and his Herald Sun colleagues.

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Sort of proves the point. Ethnicity not disclosed, media ignores it. Ethnicity disclosed, they go into a frenzy.

Yep, working for me now. All my steps for today are showing.

    Qantas Wellbeing app: sluggish?

If my understanding of the app is correct, I don’t think we’ll lose any steps/points. The information is recorded in the phone’s exercise app (Health app on an iPhone) and syncs to the Wellbeing app. It should sync across to Wellbeing when it comes up again.

    Qantas Wellbeing app: sluggish?

Yes, same here. Get an “oops something went wrong. Please try again” error message.

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

The SA Police Commissioner said yesterday: Just for balance, shouldn't Gladys also express her exasperation at him? I know the impact of Qld border closure is more than SA's, but fair is fair.

State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

I guess it’s the second point that’s relevant. Canberrans won’t be originating in WA, Qld, Tas or WA. There goes the opportunity for extra status credits by flying via Sydney. 😢 I’ll be using a flight voucher from a cancelled flight that was booked in the double status credits promotion so...

I got the same survey and answered similarly. Told them that as their 4 week offer was so unrealistic that I will be shopping at Coles during this period.

Off topic, but looking forward to watching The Murdoch Dynasty on ABC next Sunday.

State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

I agree, that’s disappointing but at least she holds regular press conferences. Federal aged care minister does neither. I’m not saying the Queensland policy shouldn’t be scrutinised, but a story on the impacts of border closures nationwide would be more balanced.

State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

At his media conference this morning, Queensland health minister said to the ABC about border closures and exemptions: I just watched the story on 7:30 - of course they didn't.

State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

Both governments are responsible. Qld supported the application and the Feds approved it. Both support the film industry with the Feds announcing $400M to support foreign productions filming in Australia. So what? None of this helps those seeking compassionate exemptions.

General Corona Virus chit chat thread - non-travel specific

In Victoria, I think a lot will depend on the success of the lockdown. If his strategy works and the economy opens up without another spike in cases, his popularity will probably rebound. I think he's doing what be believes is necessary rather than what will give him a boost in the polls.

State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

I find this quite disgusting. Sure, have a banner, something like “open the borders”, but not personal attacks like this.
