    TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Gomorra on SBS demand is my new favourite. I was a bit go hum after the first ep, hooked after the second. Gritty, perhaps not as hard hitting as the film version, but there’s already 3 seasons on SBS to watch, so the intensity will build, no doubt. Looking forward to a bit more tonight after...

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

What the heck is wrong with people? Do they think they are so important their privacy matters more than everyone’s health? I have no time for smart asses like that 😒

    Cats of the World

This gorgeous cat, named Pleade came along with our first houseswap experience – a country house in Larroque-Saint-Sernin, France (just over an hour west of Toulouse) - she was the most affectionate cat I've ever met, but also covered in tiny fleas (she's a country cat after all!) Fortunately...

Some 'cats of Penang' - Taking 'latte art' to the extreme. Some amazing street art there too - and more than a few real cats :)

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I agree that planning is impossible at the moment. We had a month-long trip booked to the US for this month, which was obviously cancelled many months ago. About 2 months ago we realised our schedules were still free, and thought we'd make the most of things and do an Aussie road trip instead...

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

From what I have read it’s a combo of tight working spaces, cold temperatures and dry air.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I've definitely had a payment back into my linked ATO savings account when I accidentally paid the quarterly BAS by credit card for the same account twice. I have 2 companies to look after and I put the wrong code in when doing the second payment, resulting in a double payment for one company...

How stunning! A great example of something I would never have gone looking for, now it's a "must-see" for me. Thanks for the inspiration to get back to Lisbon (like you need extra reasons to go to that gorgeous city).

JAPAN 2018. Is it just me, or are there not enough food photos here? It's such a fantastic part of travelling, one I know a lot of us obsess over. :) Middle one is Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo.

I loved visiting those stingrays in the Caymans - they seemed so much like pet dogs to me, a lot of character :) Thanks for reminding me

The way out of lockdowns etc in Australia

I think we need some copper self-sanitising firemen's poles installed so only people going up use the elevators. And if they were installed in glass chambers it would be so entertaining watching people whizz down (at 1.5 distance apart of course). Maybe I am easily entertained :p

Have you had to change/cancel travel due to COVID-19 (involuntarily or voluntarily)?

I'm happy to report I got a full refund (~$389) from Webjet for a non-refundable hotel stay in Baltimore that I booked late last year. After reading the AFF forums, and other people's experiences with trying to cancel, I contacted the hotel directly. I noticed their booking calendar was greyed...

    New [Amex] statement credits

I had a quick skim through the T&C - it seemed like giftcards bought instore are eligible, just not ones bought online - does that seem correct to others? Happy happy joy joy :)

Cancelling QF flight bookings made with Amex Travel Credits

Slightly off-topic, but Amex Travel have just cancelled a travel credit booking for me. I'm really pleased as they are meant to be non-refundable. I used the online chat through the Amex Travel page (thanks for this tip, AFF members). It was a one night booking for Richmond, Virginia (USA) - mid...
