Incredibly Sad News - the 747 Program has ended

There is some incredibly sad news today, and that is that Boeing has pulled the plug on the 747 program (as per Executive Traveller, link below). My first flight on the Queen of the Skies was a flight from Chicago to Paris when I was about five years old, and this aircraft is probably the...

A sad end to the A380

As reported on Reuters (link below), the parts to build the last A380 are on their way to Toulouse, where the final A380 will be manufactured and the program will draw to a close early next year. Personally, this is very sad news, as I'm sure it is for a number of people all over the world...

Who is flying to Australia now?

It seems like there is answer regarding international travel - appears likely that the borders will be closed for the remainder of this year at least according to this article from Executive Traveler...

New rebooking policy - 5,000 mile flight radius

Yes, the QR policy states that this voucher can be used for any flight, in any class on Qatar Airways, as long as you book through Qatar Airways.

New rebooking policy - 5,000 mile flight radius

No problems :) And yes, unfortunately there is a large gap between good agents and agents who may not be that experienced in terms of assisting customers, and a lot of people know that sometimes you need to call 2 or 3 times before you get an agent who will help you in an effective and...

Who is flying to Australia now?

Does anyone realistically see the 14 day quarantine rule being relaxed before 2021? Unless a vaccine is ready - it may still be a while?

New rebooking policy - 5,000 mile flight radius

There is a chance that current restrictions for International Travel to and from Australia will be in place in December, however if this is the situation, you can get a voucher for your fare + 10%, which will be valid for two years. The real question you need to ask yourself is this - assuming...

Who is flying to Australia now?

Hi All, I was just wondering what are people's thoughts - about a number of airlines restarting passenger flights to Australia. It seems like all the major ME carriers have restarted services to the major cities in Australia, SQ is restarting services either this month or next month, as is...

New rebooking policy - 5,000 mile flight radius

So what would you like to be your final destination? Are you originating from CGK or LHR? This is a decent deal and definitely plenty of value out there to still utilise the deal.

New rebooking policy - 5,000 mile flight radius

Booked a saver fare CDG-HKG and switched it to fly to SYD with no changes in price - fairly easy process.

New rebooking policy - 5,000 mile flight radius

So it seems like this policy is fairly useless when it comes to the extra 5000 miles for the destination - particularly if you are traveling from Europe to Australia. The new rules state that "New flights must be booked in the same booking class ". As an example, I have looked at fares from CDG...

Hey all, Is this policy available for one-way fares by any chance? Cheers

Travel Insurance in the UK Help

Hi All, I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere! I've moved to the UK (on a 3 year work visa) from Australia and will be going to the US in a couple of days (for 1 week). I have now been in the UK for 1 month, have registered with a GP and have a UK address. I can't find a single...

    QF/EK Partnership LHR - DXB

Thanks for looking at that. I do know that there are some routes you can't codeshare like TUN-DXB for example, but this surely is not the case for LHR-DXB? Also, when I use the online Qantas Status calculator for LHR-DXB, QF comes up as an option to earn status credits.

    QF/EK Partnership LHR - DXB

Gooday Folks, I was wondering if anyone knew what is going on with the QF/EK partnership regarding flights out of London to Dubai? I tried to search on the QF website and Skyscanner, Google Flights etc and I can't find any flights between LHR/LGW and DXB that are EK metal but QF codeshare...

Oneworld Benefits between QF and BA

Hi All, I would like to confirm something. I'm currently Qantas Gold and have relocated to London, so it makes more sense I believe to start earning BA Avios and status. If I do this, and stay in the UK for a few years, I will lose QF Status. If I do return home I would want to build up my QF...

    EK405 (Melbourne - Singapore) 777-300ER Age

Hi All, I've been following the aircraft EK use to fly this route and lately it has been fairly old aircraft (10+ years). Does anyone know if EK has refurbished the first class cabins in some of these much older aircraft? Or is the IFE and seats effectively the very first version?

Pathetic [Where are the advertised extra award seats? ]

I think the title is appropriate to be honest. I have looked at a variety of different QF routes including domestic and international a few days ago and then again today and didn't see a single extra seat released. I think it is spin and pretty disappointing from QF.

Combining a revenue ticket and award ticket

Hi Guys, I hope this hasn't been posted somewhere but I bought two tickets recently: - Award redemption MEL-SIN-DXB-CDG on Emirates, departing at 7 pm; and - Revenue ticket from SYD-MEL departing at 1 pm. I originally booked the award ticket thinking I will be in Melbourne that weekend...

    Answered Thoroughfare (married?) Segments

I did call Qantas again and was told the same thing. So I was not able to change my ticket. I thought about calling for a third time, but by then the award seats were gone. This is obviously something new and pretty disappointing because I searched for the two sectors separately and then...
