The view from my "office"

View from our 'Office' for the next few nights, looking north from The Sebel Moonee Ponds, Melbourne Having grown up in Melbourne, they are words I never thought I'd say, but after staying at an AirBnB in Doncaster back in March, anything is possible now I suppose.

I snuck in the car park across the road, for those so inclined.

What's the hire car cost like? People still complaining about being sky high, notwithstanding the fleet had been pretty much replaced. Usual Summer demand squeeze?

You did a RAT that morning?

Great to see impulse travel is back.
Cost of hire car for 3 days was $600 ( Avis was about $700 and Hertz 1k ) with Europecar for the smallest MG. At the counter i was offered an A class Merc for an extra $25 a day, which to me was a no-brainer.

I managed to secure 2 RAT packs ( 2 in each pack ) for the 3 of us, from my local Chemist Warehouse, whilst the girls were getting ready packing, which the Tassie entry requires- an honour system. We were not questioned, just scanned our Tassie e-travel qr code. A lot quicker than our 2 tassie trips in 2021.

Excellent all round!

@drron , you need 'the ultimate' (TM) wallaby, bird, you name it, protector for veggies etc:

Yes those tomatoes are about 1 m high and going flat out. Last year the vines reached the top of the enclosure, then grew laterally to abt 2.5 m. I've still got a heap of the damn things in the freezer, 3 batches of relish later!

The raspberries are just about done, but peaches have started:

I'll get maybe 3-4 dozen peaches and nectarines off my 5 dwarf trees. Bird only protection needed within my courtyard.

@RooFlyer I am in a rental and leaving at the end of Feb. so the cheapest plastic from Shiploads. $24 for enough for 3 bins.
Next person in will get a bonus veggie garden!
