QF have just cancelled my direct domestic flight and are offering a 1-stop alternative.

I can see that I can buy a ticket the day earlier for less than I paid for my original ticket...

As the original has been cancelled, am I correct in thinking I am entitled to a refund? WIll this be a cash refund or a UATP, or other credit to spend with them? As would just prefer to start again and save the difference

(Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section)

UPDATE: Phoned and got a got a full refund... Well will be when it comes through

Yes, it is very clear. If QF cancels your flight you are entitled to a full refund. They do not want to do this, but it is clear.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The AFF credo is why fly direct when you can connect?✈️

Yes I know it has an element of risk these days and your time is valuable, but when you need those last few SCs it's a good way to get them.

I don't disagree... But on this occasion going from J on an A330 departing at 2am and it taking 4 hours to a 2am departure, taking 8 hours in total (inc 2hr transit) all on a 737 J - I just wasn't feeling it TBH. Now am (hopefully) travelling 2pm, direct and no red eyes in sight! :)

I made a booking partly with a gift voucher and partly with cash. If my flight is cancelled, can I get a cash refund on any, part or all of the booking price?
