Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I thought it is a different brand. I purchased Bethany Grenache last year from Dan in the same sale. Was ok for $9 but nothing to write home about. Earlier this year I bought Bethany flagship shiraz from VM and had to send it back. No more Bethany for moi.
Fair enough
What's the return policy for Langton's? Time frame?

The Grenache 2013 Clarendon Hills felt like it was probably just past it's time, could taste plenty of alcohol.

I had the 2005 I got from Langton's and it was amazing tho.

Nice match of over priced boots with over priced wine.
Both good quality Aussie icons but 50% discount is required just to bring them to reality rather than bargain territiory.

TWE obviously feeling the China tax pain and trying hard not to erode the RRP of their Penfolds flagship. I get calls from penfolds and they don't know what to say when I ask them to come back to me when they price for a non China market access supply and demand. If Grange isn't the worlds most over rated and over priced wine then I don't want a bar of what tops it.

As much as I would love for this to be true, looking at TWE.ASX share price tells me that they are not feeling much pain from China. Just punch a one year price chart. It dropped as a knee jerk reaction in the beginning and since recovered.

I was told by my Chinese friends that the Penfolds premium product is being moved to Hong Kong to start and from there to mainland circumventing Chinese measures. Not sure if this is the reality, however I am yet to see any meaningful accessible discounts here for their premium offerings….yet.

Two great Australian owned brands, both making high quality products. This is a good deal on Grange, both boots and wine made for the long haul.

Hmmm... I just received some of the 2013 Clarendon Grenache. I absolutely loved it and ordered six more. Great cherry flavours and not too heavy. Agree it won't go forever tho.

Share pricing often precedes results. I'm not sure about their P&L results but there have been a lot of Penfolds package initiatives in the last 6 months that I've never seen before.

I've also been getting constand sake emails for TWE's other labels - again nothing worth getting excited about

1st bottle was different to the 2nd bottle I drunk. It will peak in 2-3 years!

I still have 6, but I have about 30+ Clarendon wines so I don't like to buy too much of 1 wine even if I enjoy it. Variety is life 👌

Good, well made very over priced RRP products. I like them both and have them both but don't buy them any more. Particularly post TWE Grange.

EOFY sale at Different Drop - 15% off a bunch of wines:

*edit - unfortunately not many wines stand out to me, and I have noticed that prices may have been slightly inflated (e.g. S.C. Pannel Old McDonald for $62 pre-discount at DD, $60 on S.C. Pannel website).

So I visited Dan Murphy eBay store to see if I could take an advantage of any EOFY sales

To my surprise the store greeted me with "This seller is away until Fri, Jun 25. Expect a delay in delivery until they return." and no items listed. I had a case in my cart that vanished.

"I beat all my competitors every month, every week, every day, every hour, on every price, on every product, on every bottle..." proudly says Dan Murphy,.. but sometimes I just need to go on holidays and hide during these silly eBay plus sales!

Thanks for that - pulled a trigger on Dandelion Vineyards Red Queen of the Eden Valley Shiraz 2014 - worked out just under $31 a bottle on a 6 pack delivered after the cashback/giftcard discounts.

Could not find much information/reviews so took a comfort reading some est members Vivino reviews that normally is my last resort for info.

I got some during the previous sale and thought it’s quite nice for the price. 2014 was low yielding year in Eden but doesn’t necessarily mean bad vintage. An inquiry with the winery back then advised similar cellaring potential as other vintages.

Thank you for the additional info. Did you mean in Eden rather than Clare?
