Also another exposure site has just been added. Going on the location most likely links to the 4 cases announced today.

Another batch of new exposure sites in Victoria have now been added to the one above. Possibly all relating to the Reservoir Household as they are all quite close to Reservoir.

Imagine how many resources in three different states are being wasted on these idiots

Well if 3 x governments haven't worked out what happened yet, I suppose it's good that you have.

They may well turn out to be idiots.

But, as we have seen so many times during the COVID era, the initially labelled "idiots" sometimes turn out to be pretty innocent. And afterwards government systems get adjusted to avoid the "error" in future.

I expect we'll know soon.

Oh they're idiots. QLD confirmed they did not have an exemption. You can't enter via road even they did. NSW transit permits do not allow for a holiday enroute.

They're just now determining the level of idiocy and what consequences they will face. But they have to follow process and can't be out there making damming statements in front of the media - but that doesn't make them any less guilty (although NSW was pretty damming).

Though we know that the couple left Victoria when in lockdown.
They did not have an exemption to enter Queensland.
One had attended the Craigeburn exposure site which already is associated already with 9 cases.
The woman had been symptomatic for 4 days before being tested.

So sorry they already qualify as idiots.

It isn't a foolproof system. But it's the best we can do and trust that the majority of people are recognising the issues. Just unfortunate that of the (according to you) many flouting the rules, they may also turn out to be positive cases impacting significantly on the majority.

It isn't, and one of the reasons WA gave for keeping its hard border as long as it did was due to 'state hopping' that went on.

I am sure that plenty of people are less than honest about declaring they have been at certain locations, or in certain states. But perhaps it shows that the state border closure aren't really doing as much as the state premiers are making out.

I’m sure a majority of people are following all the many rules. But I know a significant amount of people will not and suspect increasing every day as vaccination rates increase too.

I wonder who will make the 20,000th post on this thread?
As the PM says, "it's not a race"! :D :D :D

P.S. I remember a little over a year ago during the first lockdown in Sydney being worried about driving 12km to the beach for a walk in the fresh salty sea air, and was worried the cops would pull me over for travelling too far from home.

I remember having a RTW trip booked to depart in Jul 2020 and thinking in March that this would all be over by then.

The McDonalds Exposure site added last night has now been removed.

Qld CHO. 2 Qld cases look to have the Kappa Strain from partial sequencing

A low viral load has meant that currently that a full genomic sequence has not (yet) been possible. But what has been matched would suggest that it is the Kappa Strain.
