After having tasted Penfolds Bin 389, this winemaker thought to himself, "There's no reason why we can't make that in WA" ... and we're so glad he did! Fruit for this beautiful blend is sourced from the family's largest vineyard in Margaret River's praised Wilyabrup sub-region.
An intensely aromatic bouquet of rich plum, pepper spice and anise with oaky notes of vanilla, coconut, espresso and dark chocolate. The palate is layered with powerful berry and plum fruit, hints of savoury herb and oaky sweet spice notes. Mouthfeel is silky and tannins are beautifully fine-grained and velvety. An outstanding, generous expression of Margaret River red that will continue to evolve and develop in the cellar for decades.
Oak treatment: 18 months in French oak, 2 months in American oak
