The view from my "office"

From the mobile office this morning saw the finish of the Rudder cup in Devonport. Now you may laugh but this is australia's oldest open water yacht race and the 5th oldest in the world.Had some pretty credible performers with a yacht that had placed 4th overall in 2010 and 3rd in 2016.It was expected to break the race record. Also competing a Victorian couple who are trying to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in a new mixed double handed offshore race.
So here is the winner.Lord Jiminy. No where near a record time.

And photo bombed by a seagull no doubt aiming to heap it's praise on the winner.

And the favourite,Extasea, came in second.

We went for a day trip today about 200K south of Perth to Collie and especially to Wellington Dam to have a look at the new murals being painted on the dam walls. JohnM (I think it was) put up some photos a month or two back but the mural has been expanded since then. I will be posting a short "Trip Report" later tonight with a bit of look around the dam area and in town

The murals as of today.

(The sight of water being released from a dam is a very unusual sight in the south of W.A. but this is an agricultural dam only. The water has high salinity plus bromine levels that make it unsafe to drink. It is about the only dam anywhere near Perth that has a reasonable catchment level.)

The detail is impressive.

It wasn’t me. This is the first I’ve seen of the dam mural. When is it due to be completed, @OZDUCK?

Oops - sorry about that. I had a look to see who it was but couldn't find the post. Hopefully, whoever it was will come forward to claim precedence.

The wall is apparently scheduled to be completed in late January. The artist, Guido van Helten who has done murals around the world, including the Melbourne Polytechnic and Portland Cement Works, did have the audacity to have a holiday in Qsld over Christmas so it may be a little later.

I am looking forward to getting over to the dam soon. It's looking great.

Just now I tried to capture my office sky as is really nice but just couldn't get it. Very clear sky with lots of stars but also the beautiful trees outlined against the clear background. Sorry I can't get it to show you. Only chance is come visit.

It then became her flight to MCY.She had arrived an hour late from DPO as the door on the early Dash 8 flight wouldn't shut.
Her flight to MCY was due to leave 15 minutes from the time this was happening. She was told to go away.
