Hi,
I have quite a large amount of points expiring at the end of May. It appears that the date wont get extended . I live in the USA and wonder whats the best way to extend the date by having activity on my account. Obviously all travel is out of the question at the moment. If I was to purchase an additional 1000 points does that qualify to extend the date ?

Many thanks

Purchasing 1,000 points will extend the expiry date by 18 months.

A cheaper option would be to call Qantas and complain - but you'd be on hold for many hours, and at best- probably get a 6-month extension.

Buy the points.

Thanks very much for the reply. I appreciate it and I think thats definitely the best option for me.

He’s an option that involves no waits in call queues, no complaints, no monetary outlay (I.e. it’s free) and is simple and easy.

Head to the Red Planet website and register. You get sent simple surveys to complete and get rewarded in Qantas points that credit automatically to your account. Surveys come out weekly or more often, and take up to 15 minutes to complete. You really just need to complete 1 survey to keep your Qantas points on life support.

Given you’re in the USA you may need to use a VPN to set your IP address to Australia, but that’s pretty simple and easy to do.

That’s a great idea. I have already purchased the points but it certainly can’t hurt to do the survey as well. Thanks for the info !

If you have a good friend or family in Australia you could also buy some wine or use the Qantas Shopping mall to buy something although the Mall may take a while to post.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Given the strength of the USD against the AUD, purchasing 1000 points is probably very easy and hassle free :)

You could also consider spending points to extend your balance. Donate 2,900 points to make a $25 contribution to a charity, and that should do the trick for another 18 months.

Need to keep 4 accounts point balance alive
Any ideas for 1 point accrual???

is it possible to buy 1 litre of fuel?

I only want ideas for 1 QF point...

QMall takes too long.
Need by end of Aug

Not 1 point, but free points. You can get 100 points signing up and linking Hoyts Rewards. While it is quick, not sure they'll be in by Monday.

BP maybe - go instore and buy something for $1.

Download qantas wellbeing app and track your steps, 6000 steps is 1.2 points. There are a few checkup things you can do eg 5 points for checking tyre pressure.
