Qantas Points Club.... dead?

What is happening with this? Wasn’t it meant to be late 2019, then the start of 2020, then the first quarter of 2020...the first quarter is fast approaching.

It's alive! A little bit underwhelming at the base level, but I am on track for my current membership year. I could teach the highest tier with a couple of card churns though. Club membership is a good added incentive.

That is not underwhelming in the slightest. ASAs are back!

I take it back. Not ASAs though? Status credits on classic awards.

Was thinking that myself! Obviously not as lucrative SC wise but every bit helps.

This seems strange:
In order to qualify for Points Club or Points Club Plus, members must earn 150,000 or 350,000 points respectively in a Membership Year. A maximum of 125,000 points per transaction on the ground and a maximum of 20,000 points earned from flying will count towards these targets.

So if I earn 150,000 points from flying I don't get membership?

If you earn 150000 from flying you will probably be Gold or better and this club won't interest you.

So if I earn 150,000 points from flying I don't get membership?

From memory the originally stated point of "points club" was to offer something to people who earn a lot of points but don't fly much.

This isn't going to make classic awards any more interesting for me if they still carry ridiculously high 'taxes' and availability that's so limited that I can only get an award seat for half the journey not a return journey, or only in Y when I want J or F.

If you get a points upgrade will you now earn SCs on the upgraded class?

Does it mean that you need to get the points in the earlier part of membership year before you can access the benefits in the remainder of the membership year?
