Hi All

I have roughly 200k QFF points and no no status apart from Bronze. I've been saving points and was hoping to fly x 2 to Singapore from Perth in J class. Whenever I look forward for flights nothing really come up about 10-12 months out. Is this because I don't have much SC so can't see these flights or rewards flights are just hard to get. I might have to save more points or look at alternative routes.

QF Bronze/Silver members can only see J/F seats 297 days in advance, which is less than 10 months. Gold and above get 353 days in advance. If you know someone with QF gold+ status you could get them to look for you (and book if they're *cough* a family member *cough*)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Interesting. I do have someone who could do this for me. excuse my ignorance but how could they book if they are a cough cough family member!!

Simply get them to use their points to book the award seats under your names.

You can then either 'family transfer' them the points back or repay them some other way (the latter option being relatively safer).

Cough cough, ahem, but do note that things have gone pear shaped when and if the transaction pings, (just make sure you have dotted your "i" and crossed your "t"s...)
In my past few years on here, QFF accounts have been locked and points locked, ... just so that you are aware.

Agreed, business class sale fares to Singapore are usually fairly reasonable.

When do you want to fly?
As mentioned by Saltywings, you need to look at around 297 days release, which is currently in the midst of the dec/jan holiday period...meaning availability may be problematic regardless of status.
Have a look at Oct/Nov Per-Sin, plenty of 2 x J availability still there.
This suggests that if you pick a non-peak travel time, you should be fine booking @ 297-ish days.

I reckon its a pretty good use of points for 2 x J return, shorter flight time = less points cost obviously....
