Just for being an American Express Velocity Card Member, you can get up to 30% off selected domestic and up to 25% off selected international Virgin Australia operated flights*. This includes Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class.

Simply use your American Express Velocity Platinum Card to book a flight via our dedicated Virgin Australia offer page and the discount code will automatically be applied to your booking. Don't forget to add your Velocity membership number to your booking to earn Points when you fly.

Hurry, this limited time offer ends at 11.59pm AEDT on 31 March 2019. Valid for travel from 8 April 2019 to 12 February 2020. A 21 day advance purchase period applies.

I wonder how 'selected' the flights will be and whether the discount applies to all classes.

Looks like the promo code for this offer is AMX19

Just another promo code to add to the list of existing promo codes widely published

It will be interesting to see if it works as easily as that. I've got the card anyway so don't need to check that.

Mrs RB is a cardholder but no luck for PQQ-SYD being a "selected" flight for dates we want

I tried SYD-AKL plus a domestic location in NZ and got no discount but when I looked at just SYD-AKL and put the code in I got the 'promo' fare for early May.

As usual, the flights I wanted were not the same as those selected by VA. I was able to use one of the codes (tried a few, forget which one worked) to get a 10% discount though. Woo....hoo.

I've actually spent a few weeks searching for SYD-HND/NRT and SYD/LAX next Jan. After release of this promo code, suddenly I can only find availability in Freedom and all at much higher prices. Weird.

Not to mention the continual problems with flight searches not resolving - staring at the spinning snowflake for 5 minutes, trying other browsers, very tedious.

I'm trying SYD-LAX for January but prices are still sky high and no promo ticket icon. I am a Velocity Amex Platinum card holder. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Glad to hear it's not just me having this problem with the VA website.

I was checking dates in august for the same route last night and prices were quite good. Checked again now and the prices for same dates and flight are back up about 20% :(

Crazy...I was getting 2450 return bris-lax in PE with this promo code yesterday for Jul-Aug...it seems I should have just booked as it would now seem that would be a mistake as PE fairs are only 10% discount (vs I think it was applying 25% yesterday)... only international business is 25% as per the T&Cs below on the offer page. I must admit I didn't check these yesterday but the fare has definitely jumped by over $1000 return :S.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It would have been easier if they'd just stated when exactly those amazing discounts actually materialize. The operative words ("selected flights") have really proved to be the deal breaker.
