Gold now, and of course Plat at 1000.

I do not want her to get to Plat til as late as possible in year so our Review dates are as close as possible - mine is October and I requal each years so it stays at that date.

This weird system Velocity have of moving review dates when someone goes up or down a tier annoys us greatly, but it is what it is.

Makes no huge difference really, but wondered if the computer has a ''fudge factor'' loaded that if one gets within 4 or 5 or 10 SC, it trips over to Plat or Gold as a ''courtesy'' kind of deal. Anyone have any experience on that?

She has been Plat several times before, so maybe it will be anticipated she will get there and uptick her automatically?

I would get her to call them to hold off upgrading till the credits are earned.

Happened to my wife, i was pooling to her up to 485 SC's, and I had a date in mind that i wanted her to kick over ( to get as much life out of the 12 months of SG ) So to my surprise, they bumped her up not long after she hit that number.

Happened to myself at 15 points off achieving platinum, after dropping to gold a fortnight earlier. Thing was I was 10 points off renewing platinum the fortnight before. My review date fell in the midst of an international trip, still dropped me to gold. So I can say it does jump both ways.

I am surprised seeing the computer sets elite level on your account, there is not an algorithm that is standard. i.e. accounts hits 490 Gold is generated, and 980 for Plat or whatever.

Computers seldom work in such an ad hoc system, as the reports above! :p

Computer says yes based on my past experience

Maybe 5 years back I was bumped up around 970 SCs.
Didn’t retain that year, but following year didn’t achieve plat until 1000 SCs hit.

As a reference point, there must be an auto trigger point. I suspect 970 or 980 gets you over the line.

Before we even did this weekend's flights, at 982 SC on last week's flights, she was comped and Plat and website clearly states only needs 800 in the next year to retain. (+8 sectors of course)

In recognition of how close you are to upgrading and for being a loyal Velocity Frequent Flyer member, we would like to reward you with Platinum membership.

Keep an eye out as your membership pack is on its way, including luggage tag and your new membership card.
