Have recently retired and husband retires in 5 weeks, now that its time to spend our hard earned money we have booked business class seats with Finnair to Europe. We initially fly Qantas to Singapore and have a 5+ hour lay over before Finnair to Europe, on the way home we are Finnair to Hong Kong with a 4+ hour lay over before we fly cathay back to Melbourne. What lounges can we/or should use in Singapore and Hong Kong. We have no other status, only bronze & silver with QFF .Thanks for your assistance.

Noting you have no status your lounge access will be granted based on class of travel. If you're travelling business or higher there will be a lounge in each of the airports you've mentioned.

Feel free to ask the check in person what lounge(s) you're able to access and they'll happily give you directions.

Also welcome to AFF and we hope to have you posting here for awhile as you enjoy your retirement travelling the world.

I see you're from Melbourne. You're both welcome to attend a social event here to discuss flying. Don't worry about how much or little you travel, you will enjoy it.

Thanks for that link, unfortunately I won't get much time to enjoy the lounge in Helsinki with tight connections, more concerned about what lounges I can use in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Thank you Hrv, yes it all about travel and spending our daughters inheritance. We have travelled overseas yearly for that past 2 decades but can now afford nicer travel in business.

If you're in business class then you can use BA, Dnata, Qantas and Cathay lounges in SIN, and Cathay and Plaza lounges in HKG.

Apologies I missed that!

Singapore - You can access the Qantas and BA lounges which are almost next door to each other.
Hong Kong - You can access the Qantas lounge (immediately past security) in addition to the various Cathay business class lounges throughout the airport...

The Qantas lounge can be very crowded in Singapore, so try BA. In Hong Kong I prefer the Cathay lounges (I'd recommend the Pier business class lounge, which is more like a standard first class lounge than buisness class).

You are of course free to lounge hop, and visit a couple until you find the one you like best. The QF lounge in Hong Kong does have a nice bar, but no champagne for business class (Cathay lounges do).

Don't worry too much about the distances between lounges in Hong Kong, there are moving walkways and also a train.

Thanks for that information, it would be nice to try out more than 1 lounge to break up up the hours waiting

Am sat in the brand spanking new Platinum Wing in Helsinki, still has the shiny new fabrics/paint smell!

A very nice lounge and the bar service is fantastic. You self-book shower suites for 30min blocks, dining area and a lot of private seating areas. I'm having a n amazing experience with Finnair, very happy to fly with them again.

Welcome @Lilypuppie

Agree with the suggestions above plus the observation that the QF lounge in SIN is busy

BTW did you know that AY (Finnair code) also does a RTW (Round the World) fare for less than $6000 pp? at sale times?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I definitely want that RTW deal. A friend just got back from UK flying with Qantas, he is platinum with QFF but chose British Airways in Singapore because of the craziness in the Qantas lounge.
