No big deal, as not a huge amount of points, and I usually book direct with Hilton and Starwood/Marriott in order to get Status benefits, but went recently went to place some Hotels bookings in Victoria Falls where there are ZERO Hotel chains, via the link from Virgin to there, and could see links from Virgin to several Hotel chains direct, but not to Agoda - that I could see anyway.

So has that points earning deal gone now?

It's not actually. No offence, but people should, perhaps, check their facts before posting incorrect information.

It's not automatic. You have to log onto the agoda website and select Velocity (or one of the other many airlines including SQ Silverkris etc ) as a partner in your profile. Make sure you save the option.

After that you'll also need to make sure you choose the rate that actually includes Velocity points. 9 times out of 10 they are more expensive than the rest.

Well someone is telling lies ....
From the Velocity site

Update: Please note that as of 30 November 2016, Agoda is no longer a partner of Velocity Frequent Flyer..

Agoda VFF earn is alive and well via PointsMax.

Best price available and quite a good points earner as well as shown below (booking made a few days ago) at 4.62 VFF/$ spent on the cheapest room rate...

Conflicting and/or misleading information on the Velocity site. Surely not ! Screenshot from Agoda was take this evening 14/2. Think Virgin want you to use Virgin holidays to book Accommodation..

So ....Has anyone actually had points hit their Velocity account from PointsMax ?.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have found the room rates to earn points via PointsMax can be more expensive.

I think Velocity is one of the better ones but some such as Asia Miles and Air Asia only start earning points on ridiculous room rates.

Agree the room rates inflate if you take the max options, so you've got to do your sums. I'm partway through a 21-day AUD$257 per night booking that should deliver 6.72 VFF points per dollar. Yep, 37K in points.

I only discovered late last year about Points MAX.
My bookings I've found I can generally get a small number of points without the booking price going up.
The points do go up a lot more if you choose a more expensive option from the same hotel.
This last one was for a ~$500 booking.
