I am currently transiting KL and I saw the strangest route I think I have ever seen.

OD8115 Kuala Lumpur - Christmas Island

It made me wonder, what are some of the other strange or unusual routes that you have come across on your travels?

I have flown LTN-WAT on VLM (now defunct)...

I have (several times) walked past a gate at SIN, showing SQ flight boarding for ROK.

Chartered for Singapore Armed Forces, for exercises at Shoalwater Bay.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Turkish Airlines has a flight from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to UIaanbaatar, Mongolia, for some reason.

Air Austral's flight from Marseille to Saint-Denis, Reunion Island also probably qualifies.

Another I came across recently was a flight from Almaty to Male, via Karachi.

VA flies between DPS and PHE

Not too shocking. There is quite a number of FIFO's working in NW WA who either reside in Indonesia for their breaks and greater still who go for a weeks R&R. Be interested to see stats on it though.

Not sure if this qualifies but I'm currently on a revolving door flight. Moresby (POM) to Wapenamanda (WBM) to Hagen (HGU) to Kairik (RGE) , so a nice little loop de loop ...

... but it does not stop there. PNG Air decided to off load the checked in WBM, so I'm arranging now for our HGU-RGE to stop again in WBM, so my flight today will be POM-WBM-HGU-WBM-RGE ... provided it all goes to plan (PNG, Land of the Unexpected)! :D

On a side note, this was to be my first time landing at WBM ... now it's poised to be twice in one day! The airport is not much, but the approach and departure is spectacular!

Wonders never cease! All went without a hitch. It's not everywhere you can divert a flight to pick up wayward luggage! ;)

I didn't even have to get off the plane, just gave the thumbs up as they passed my window! :D

Another thing struck me, I think there was a thread on AFF somewhere for the shortest flight you've taken. This may be it. PNG Air fully commercial flight WBM-HGU = 12 minutes. o_O
